What are the misunderstandings about cervical cancer? How to treat cervical cancer

I believe that many people know about cervical cancer, but they don't know much about this disease. This disease is a topic of concern to many women. As women, whether we are sick or not, we should have some relevant knowledge, which is good for ourselves and the people around us. Now, let's take a look at some misunderstandings when treating cervical cancer.

Cervical cancer requires hysterectomy and infertility after surgery.

Hysterectomy is the conventional treatment for early-stage cervical cancer, but it is not the only option. Conization and radical trachelectomy can avoid hysterectomy, and women can retain their motherhood as much as possible without affecting their survival.

Cervical erosion can turn into cancer.

Many women have the misunderstanding that cervical erosion can lead to cervical cancer, so they are very afraid of cervical erosion. In fact, there is no necessary connection between the two. Cervical erosion is a common inflammatory condition. The appearance of early cervical cancer is very similar to cervical erosion and is easy to confuse.

Erosion is not "rotten" in the true sense, it can be a physiological phenomenon. Under the action of estrogen, the columnar epithelium of the cervical canal in women of childbearing age turns outward and replaces the squamous epithelium of the cervix, presenting an "erosion" appearance. However, "erosion" is also rare in women before puberty and during menopause because the estrogen level in the body is relatively low.

Young people do not get cervical cancer.

In recent years, the age of cervical cancer has become younger and younger. Therefore, women should have their first Pap smear test at the age of 21 or after 3 years of sexual intercourse. They should consult their doctor about how long to take. In fact, age does not mean anything. Even if you have reached menopause, had a hysterectomy, or are over 65 years old, a Pap smear test is still necessary.
