Can down jackets be dry cleaned

When the weather is cold, people usually wear down jackets to keep warm. Down jackets have good thermal insulation properties and can effectively block the invasion of cold wind. However, a better down jacket is not cheap, usually costing over a thousand yuan. For more expensive down jackets, you must protect them well. For example, you should be very careful when washing them to avoid incorrect washing methods that may affect the warmth retention performance of the down jacket. So can down jackets be dry cleaned?

1. If the down jacket is not dirty as a whole, but only has local stains, it is not recommended to wash the whole piece. You can use local scrubbing:

1. Check the label of the clothing to confirm that it can be washed;

2. Keep the clothes dry, apply down jacket cleaning liquid or hand-washing special laundry detergent or diluted liquid to the stain, and let it stand for 5 minutes (if it is heavy oil dirt, you can use a white towel or a soft brush to gently scrub the stain back and forth);

3. After removing the stains, use a clean towel dipped in clean water to repeatedly wipe the remaining detergent; if the solution accidentally enters the fabric through the pinhole during wiping, it should be partially rinsed in clean water to completely remove the residual detergent;

4. Wipe the watermark with a clean dry towel. After cleaning the down jacket, place it in a ventilated place to dry

2. If the down jacket is dirty as a whole, you can use the overall cleaning method:

Hand Wash:

1. Keep the clothes dry, apply down jacket cleaning liquid or hand-washing special laundry detergent directly to the stain and let it stand for 5 minutes;

2. Put the down jacket into water with down jacket cleaning liquid or laundry detergent (excluding the amount of laundry detergent used during pre-coating) and gently knead it; 3. After the stains are removed, rinse the clothes thoroughly with clean water and place them in a ventilated place to dry.

Washing with drum washing machine:

1) Check the label of the clothing to confirm that it can be washed;

2) If there are local stains, keep the clothes dry, apply down jacket detergent or hand-washing special laundry detergent to the stains, let it stand for 5 minutes, and then wash it by hand or machine; (If it is heavily soiled, you can gently wipe/brush it with a towel/soft brush; if there are no obvious stains, you can wash it directly);

3) When washing in a machine, turn the down jacket over so that the outer fabric faces inward and the lining faces outward, then put it into the washing machine, add detergent, switch to the down jacket washing program, start the washing machine, and complete the entire washing program;

4) Check the fabric of the clothes for watermarks and rinse them 1 to 2 times in the washing machine if necessary.
