What should be done about cervical precancerous lesions? What examinations should be done for cervical precancerous lesions

Cervical precancerous lesions refer to cancerous lesions caused by lesions in the area before cancer occurs. Cervical precancerous lesions are atypical hyperplasia of the cervix. The occurrence and development of cervical cancer has a gradual evolution process, which can take from a few years to decades. It is generally believed that this evolution process has gone through several stages: hyperplasia, atypical hyperplasia, carcinoma in situ, early invasion, and invasive cancer. What examinations should be done for cervical precancerous lesions?

Three-step screening for cervical precancerous lesions

The first step: TCT thin-layer liquid-based cytology test

First, the most advanced thin-layer liquid-based cytology technology (TCT) is used to observe cervical cells under a microscope to check whether the cervical cells are abnormal, because cervical cancer starts from abnormal cervical cells.

In addition, if economic conditions permit, HPV testing can also be performed, which will be more accurate.

Step 2: Electronic colposcopy

After TCT thin-layer liquid-based cytology testing, if abnormal cervical cells are found, colposcopy is required. Observing subtle changes in the surface of the cervical precancerous lesions is of great value for the early detection and diagnosis of cervical cancer and precancerous lesions.

Step 3: Histopathological examination

If abnormalities are found during colposcopy, biopsy should be performed under the guidance of special staining. Under the guidance of colposcopy, multiple biopsies of suspicious lesions should be performed, and pathological examinations should be performed to confirm the cervical lesions.
