Are fibroid tumors serious?

Fibrous tumors are generally benign tumors derived from fibrous connective tissue. Most of them occur in adults aged 30-50 years old, and are also common in children and adolescents. Because of the different components they contain, they can be divided into fibromyoma, fibroadenoma, and fibrolipoma. According to the number of cells and fiber components, they can be divided into fibrous type and cellular type, because fibrous connective tissue is widely distributed in the human body and constitutes the gaps of various organs. Therefore, fibrous tumors can grow in any part of the body, among which growth in the skin and subcutaneous tissue is the most common. The tumors vary in shape and size, grow slowly, and are generally small. They have clear edges, smooth surface, hard texture, and a certain degree of mobility.

Because fibroid tumors are benign tumors, they will not deteriorate or develop into cancer, so there is no need to worry too much. The tumor grows slowly. When the tumor develops to a certain extent, it will generally not grow again, nor will it deteriorate or develop into a disease. Benign tumors generally have little effect on the body, and usually do not require surgical treatment. Doctors will only recommend surgery when the tumor grows too large or has an impact on the body. However, there are special cases. Desmoid tumors in the abdominal wall muscles mostly occur in adult women aged 20-40. They may become malignant and should be removed as soon as possible.

The tumor of fibroid tumor is not large, and most of them are in the subcutaneous tissue, growing slowly. It is mainly treated by surgical removal, and radiotherapy and hormone application can inhibit tumor growth in a few cases. However, they are generally not used as the main treatment method, so they are generally regarded as palliative treatment for those who cannot undergo surgery.

Therefore, fibroid tumors are not particularly scary. As long as they are checked in time and the type of fibroid tumor is identified and the corresponding treatment is done, there is nothing to be afraid of.
