Can thyroid nodules be treated with scraping?

Thyroid nodules are a relatively common disease. This disease mostly occurs in women. Generally, there are two types: benign and malignant. Most of them are caused by thyroid degenerative changes, autoimmunity, inflammation and other reasons. Some people will use scraping treatment to treat thyroid nodules. Although scraping has many benefits to the body, scraping thyroid nodules can easily cause the nodules to enlarge, so you should be cautious.

Western medicine mainly treats the thyroid gland by surgical resection or incision, but this causes large local trauma, and the scars left after surgery affect beauty and may even damage peripheral nerves, causing various sequelae, such as recurrent laryngeal nerve paralysis, hoarseness, loss of voice, dysphagia, permanent iodine deficiency, and recurrence.

TCM regulates the thyroid gland by taking into account both the symptoms and the root cause, based on the concepts of promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis, softening and dispersing nodules, and soothing the liver and regulating qi, to regulate the body from the root. Moxibustion is very effective in removing blood stasis and dispersing nodules, while scraping has an immediate catharsis effect.

Therefore, we believe that for thyroid cystic nodules, inflammatory nodules, and thyroid cysts, using moxibustion + scraping is a very good choice, as long as you persist. It should be pointed out in advance that neither moxibustion nor scraping is a panacea, and the efficiency is not 100%. The specific effect varies from person to person. As long as the direction is correct and as long as you persist, there will be rewards!

3. The liver is responsible for regulating qi and blood, and all kinds of nodules should be treated from the perspective of the liver!

Although modern science cannot fully explain thyroid disease, traditional Chinese medicine had a deep understanding of it thousands of years ago and referred to thyroid disease as "goiter." There is a description in Huangdi Neijing that "East wind is born in spring, the disease is in the liver, and the point is in the neck" (Suwen Jinkui Zhenlun Lun). The so-called "point is in the neck" refers to the position where the outlet of liver qi is in the neck, that is, the thyroid gland (neck) and cervical vertebra (nax). Many liver problems will first manifest as neck discomfort. For example, people with excessive liver qi are prone to neck stiffness, and people with depressed liver qi are prone to cervical spondylosis. Of course, various thyroid diseases are mostly directly related to the liver and gallbladder system.

After understanding the theory of the hepatobiliary system, the various symptoms of hyperthyroidism (exophthalmos, tremors of the hands and tongue, nail loss, paroxysmal limb paralysis, and localized myxedema of the anterior tibial region) can be easily explained. From this we can also see that thyroid disease is just a manifestation of liver system disease. In order to cure thyroid disease, the liver and gallbladder must be taken good care of. How to take good care of the liver and gallbladder meridians, dredging is the key.

Step 1: Scraping

Thyroid nodules, two meridians that must be unblocked:

The meridians in our human body are equivalent to the traffic routes in a city. Although the road is long, there will always be sections where congestion is prone to occur. The same is true for meridians. In our long-term practice, we have found some places where sore nodules and abnormal reactions are prone to occur, which are called traffic black spots. On a daily basis, we focus on clearing these traffic black spots to ensure the normal flow of qi and blood in the meridians.

The following two meridians are cleared with the energy cup. The yellow markings on the meridians are traffic black spots, which are the key targets of scraping.
