The harm caused by glioma to the human body

Nowadays, the incidence of brain glioma is getting higher and higher. Some people may ask, what is glioma? Glioma is a tumor that occurs in the neuroectoderm and is also a highly malignant disease. So, what kind of harm will brain glioma cause to the human body?

Analysis by tumor experts: As gliomas gradually grow larger, they form intracranial space-occupying lesions, often accompanied by brain edema. When the compensation limit is exceeded, intracranial pressure increases. When gliomas block the circulation of cerebrospinal fluid or compress veins, resulting in venous return obstruction, the intracranial pressure increases further. If bleeding, necrosis, and cyst formation occur in gliomas, the progression of the disease can be accelerated.

When the intracranial pressure increases to a critical point, the intracranial volume continues to decrease, and the intracranial pressure will increase rapidly. If the intracranial pressure is monitored, when the pressure reaches 6.67-13.3 kPa of mercury, a plateau wave will appear. The plateau wave appears repeatedly and lasts for a long time, which is a clinical sign. When the intracranial pressure is equal to the arterial pressure, the cerebral blood vessels are paralyzed, the cerebral blood flow stops, the blood pressure drops, and the patient will die soon. It can be seen that brain glioma is very harmful.

What kind of harm will glioma cause to the human body? Glioma is extremely harmful, causing glioma patients to fall into a coma, increase blood pressure, slow pulse, deep and irregular breathing, and decerebrate rigidity, and finally respiratory arrest, blood pressure drop, cardiac arrest and death. Infratentorial posterior fossa tumors can cause foramen magnum herniation. In severe cases, the ventral side of the medulla oblongata compresses the front edge of the foramen magnum. Supratentorial tumors can also be accompanied by foramen magnum herniation. It causes medullary ischemia, coma, increased blood pressure, slow but strong pulse, deep and unplanned breathing. Then breathing stops, blood pressure drops, pulse is rapid and weak, and death occurs.
