Some people are prone to burns during laser treatment. Once this happens, you need to determine whether the burn is mild or severe. If it is mild, you need to quickly avoid the burned area and rinse the burned skin with cold water in time. It is best to immerse the skin completely in water, so that your skin will not experience a particularly severe burning sensation. 1. Small area, mild burns First aid for first-degree burns or second-degree burns with an area less than 1% is as follows: (1) Immediately and quickly avoid heat sources. (2) Rinse with cold water or soak the burned limbs in clean cold water for 15 to 30 minutes until the pain and burning sensation are gone. Cold compresses can be applied to the trunk or other parts of the body to relieve pain and limit the progression of injuries. (3) If you are wearing close-fitting clothing when you are burned, you should rinse it with cold water before removing it or use scissors to carefully cut it off. (4) After rinsing with clean water, apply burn ointment locally and cover with plastic wrap. (5) If blisters form on second-degree burns, try not to burst them. Do not cut off the epidermis of broken blisters. 2. Severe burns (1) Remove the patient from the heat source safely and as quickly as possible. If a patient has suffered electrical burns and the electric shock has caused cardiac arrest, life-saving measures should be taken first, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation, followed by treatment of burns and other injuries. (2) Rinse or soak the burned area with cold water as soon as possible to cool the skin temperature. It should be noted that if the victim is pale, has cold limbs, a weak pulse, and the burn area is more than 30%, and is judged to be in shock, do not rinse with cold water. (3) Respiratory tract burns can easily lead to suffocation, so be extremely vigilant. Pay attention to clearing foreign objects from the respiratory tract and keeping the respiratory tract open. If suffocation or respiratory arrest occurs, perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation immediately. 3. Send to hospital for further treatment as soon as possible 2. Pop the blisters After a burn, many blisters will appear at the burned area. Some people will prick the blisters, which actually turns the closed wound into an open wound, increasing the chance of bacterial infection. Whether the blisters should be popped depends on the situation: if the blisters caused by burns are not very large and the epidermis is not damaged, there is no need to pop them. If the blister is too large, the pain is obvious, and the protein may be coagulated, you should use a sterile needle to prick the blister, squeeze out the water in the blister, and then cover the blister skin as it is. It is best to completely remove the necrotic epidermis, clean and disinfect it, and then cover it with a biological dressing. 3. No contact with water Some people are afraid that there may be bacteria in cold water and they are afraid of infection, so they dare not rinse the wound with cold water. This is unreasonable. The best early treatment option after a burn or scald is local cooling. The sooner the flushing is, the better. Even if the burn or scald has caused epidermal exfoliation, it should still be flushed with cold water. Do not be afraid of infection and dare not flush. |
