What are the diagnostic criteria for melanoma

Melanoma is a highly malignant tumor, also known as malignant melanoma. With the continuous development of science and technology, our understanding of melanoma has gradually deepened. However, many times, when the symptoms of the disease appear, we fail to pay attention and miss the best treatment period. Understanding the diagnostic criteria can help us deepen our understanding of melanoma and detect it early.

Diagnostic criteria for melanoma: 1. Gray-black or brown papules or nodules appear on the skin, accompanied by itching and pain.

Melanoma diagnostic criteria 2. The tumor has irregular edges, uneven pigmentation, excessive keratinization on the surface, hair loss, and may ulcerate and bleed.

Melanoma diagnostic criteria 3. Satellite nodules appear around the tumor.

Melanoma diagnostic criteria 4. Extensive distant metastasis, such as lungs, brain, etc.

Melanoma diagnostic criteria 5. Diagnosis can be confirmed by pathological examination.

Experts say there are several ways to diagnose melanoma:

1. Staining can show melanoma; melanosomes can be seen under electron microscopy; immunoenzyme labeling (S-100) is positive, which also belongs to the diagnosis of melanoma.

2. Junctional nevi should be closely observed. If a nevus grows rapidly in a short period of time, the pigmentation darkens significantly and spreads around, or the hair on the nevus suddenly falls off on its own, or the nevus feels itchy, or granular satellite nodules appear around the nevus, and the lymph nodes in the area are swollen, these are all basis for the diagnosis of melanoma.

3. Anyone with pigmented nodules or pigmented nodules showing ulcerous manifestations should be highly suspected of the possibility of this disease, which also helps in the diagnosis of melanoma.

4. Biopsy pathological examination shows that epithelioid tumor cells, spindle tumor cells, and melanin components are mixed under the microscope, with complex structure and diverse morphology. This is a good method for diagnosing melanoma.

The above is the diagnostic table of melanoma. I hope it can help everyone understand this disease better. If you find yourself experiencing the above symptoms, please go to the hospital for further examination as soon as possible and receive timely and active treatment. This will help you recover. I wish you good health and a happy family!
