There is floc in the stool

There is floc in the stool

Feces are useless products produced by the human body's metabolism, and under certain circumstances it can reflect a person's physical health status. Some people will find flocs in their stool when they defecate. This situation is most likely caused by proctitis or by people eating some special foods. People need to pay special attention to this situation. Here we will explain what is going on when there is floc in the stool.

Generally speaking, stool passes through the colon and reaches the rectum. After being stored, it stimulates the sympathetic and pelvic floor muscle nerves and is discharged. White sticky stool is usually seen in the exfoliated intestinal epithelial cells or the increase of mucus secretion after colorectal inflammatory lesions. Generally, you don't need to pay attention to it. You just need to avoid eating raw and cold fish and shrimps to improve it. If necessary, do a colonoscopy.

Proctitis, the symptoms are very similar to those of ulcerative colitis, and the pathogenesis is also similar, generally related to the body's immune system. The white flocs you mentioned should be the white mucus-like substance attached to the surface of the stool, which is a mixture of intestinal wall secretions and necrotic and detached intestinal mucosa. The use of salsalazine suppositories is also symptomatic. The effect may be less than that of retention enema.

treat

[Treatment policy]

Take appropriate treatment measures according to the cause and symptoms of proctitis. Enema and topical medication are given symptomatically.

[Drug treatment]

1 Systemic treatment: Antibiotics can be taken orally, injected intramuscularly or intravenously according to the condition. 2. Adrenal cortical hormone: suitable for patients with fulminant or severe ulcerative proctitis. Hydrocortisone or dexamethasone is commonly used for daily intravenous drip, with a course of 7 to 10 days. After the symptoms are relieved, prednisolone is used orally. After the condition is controlled, the dosage is gradually reduced. After stopping the medication, sulfasalazine salicylate can be given to prevent recurrence.

[Other treatments]

Enema: For those with rectal mucosal edema, the rectum can be irrigated with a solution of normal saline, tannic acid, or permanganate. For mucosal erosion, apply cortisone acetate solution or silver nitrate solution. For those with sphincter and levator ani muscle spasms, warm olive oil can be injected into the rectum. If the rectal mucosa is atrophied and dry, an appropriate amount of peppermint oil can be injected into the rectum every night. You can also use honey, sesame oil and coptis liquid, alternately retaining enema every other day, twice a day, which has a good therapeutic effect.

Guidance: You can try using one bottle of Xileisan, one bottle of gentamicin, half a bottle of dexamethasone, one bottle of Yunnan Baiyao, and 200ml of normal saline for retention enema. Try to hold it in for longer. Our patients find it very useful. You can try it.

From the above explanation, we can understand why there are white flocs in the stool. Ultimately it is caused by what you eat, because if there is a disease in the body, it can be felt. If it is a more serious disease, it will be too late when it is detected through stool examination. So if this happens, you don't need to worry too much.
