What to do if rhinoplasty gets infected

Rhinoplasty failure is a very unimaginable problem, and before choosing rhinoplasty, you should try to read as many cases of failed rhinoplasty as possible and imagine what consequences you will face after the rhinoplasty fails. Moreover, rhinoplasty is also a plastic surgery, so it is inevitable to face the problem of infection after rhinoplasty injections. So what should a person do if an infection occurs after rhinoplasty?

First, postoperative infection is a common problem faced by all surgical operations. Modern surgical operations have flourished only after the aseptic technology has been gradually improved and the infection can be effectively controlled. Rhinoplasty surgery itself is a sterile surgery. As long as the patient is healthy, has strong resistance, and there are no infected lesions in the surgical site, the doctor will strictly perform sterile operations during the surgery and pay attention to wound care to prevent contamination after the surgery. Basically, there will be no infection.

Second, after rhinoplasty, you should pay attention to protecting the surgical area, especially within one month. Do not shake the prosthesis with your hands and do not bump the surgical area. However, it does not matter which side you face when you sleep, as the prosthesis will not be crooked due to sleeping on the side of your face. Avoid spicy and irritating foods after the operation, and do not drink alcohol or smoke within a week. Take antibiotics and other related medicines on time every day as prescribed by your doctor. Do not get the surgical incision area wet before removing the stitches. You can apply some erythromycin ointment every day with a sterile cotton swab. You can apply ice to the surgical area within 72 hours after the operation, and apply heat to the surgical area after 72 hours, but be sure not to apply it for too long at a time to avoid frostbite or burns. Finally, remember to follow up and remove the stitches on time.

Third, the clinical manifestations of infection after rhinoplasty include obvious local swelling that spreads to the forehead, redness of the skin, increased skin temperature, body fever, and a throbbing sensation in the nose. After discovering these phenomena, those who love beauty should contact the surgeon in time and take timely measures. For mild infection after rhinoplasty, systemic antibiotics can be used to control it. If the infection is severe, surgery is required to remove the prosthesis and provide adequate drainage. After local healing for 3 months, another surgery can be considered.
