Will breast cancer recur after being cured?

Will breast cancer recur after being cured? Experts say that breast cancer is a malignant tumor, which is divided into three types: mild, moderate and severe according to the severity of the disease. Compared with other malignant tumors, breast cancer has a very good prognosis, but every year one-third of breast cancer patients still have recurrence or metastasis after surgery. Once recurrence occurs, appropriate treatment methods should be taken in time to better improve the patient's survival.

Generally, recurrence and metastasis are most common within two years after surgery. The probability of recurrence and metastasis will gradually decrease with the extension of the postoperative period. However, many patients have recurrence and metastasis more than ten years or even two decades after surgery. Therefore, breast cancer patients should undergo regular examinations after surgery.

Generally speaking, early breast cancer tumors are small and have not spread or metastasized, so surgical resection is the most effective treatment. Breast-conserving surgery is an important surgical treatment for early breast cancer. Conventional radiotherapy after breast-conserving surgery has a good effect. The 5-year survival rate of breast cancer patients after surgical resection is more than 80%. After surgery, it is recommended to undergo a period of postoperative treatment, such as radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and traditional Chinese medicine treatment, to prevent recurrence and speed up the recovery of body functions.

For early breast cancer that is suitable for breast conservation, the "breast-conserving surgery + radiotherapy" treatment plan will not increase the mortality and recurrence rates. Currently, the overall five-year survival rate of breast cancer can reach 80%. At the same time, the patient satisfaction rate with the cosmetic effect of the breast exceeds 90%, which greatly improves the quality of life.

The above introduces whether breast cancer will recur after being cured? Experts say that the occurrence of breast cancer brings great pain to female friends, but patients must not give up, actively cooperate with the doctor's treatment, and pay attention to some precautions during the treatment, which can effectively avoid the recurrence of breast cancer.
