Causes and signs of death after vomiting blood from laryngeal cancer

The survival rate of laryngeal cancer in the early stage with professional treatment is 90%, but if it is not treated in time, the mortality rate of the advanced stage of laryngeal cancer, which is critical, is extremely high. It is imperative to stop smoking and drinking and eat a healthy diet. Of course, if laryngeal cancer is in the late stage, then beware of the following signs of death.

Signs of death that patients with advanced laryngeal cancer should be aware of:

Sign 1: Coughing and blood in sputum: This occurs after the cancer ruptures. Since the tumor carries a large number of abnormal new blood vessels, patients often find blood in their mucus or sputum after coughing. This symptom is mainly seen in patients with supraglottic and subglottic tumors and patients with mid- to late-stage vocal cord tumors. Early vocal cord tumors generally do not cause bleeding.

Sign 2: Breathing difficulties: This is a late-stage symptom. When the tumor deteriorates severely and increases in size at the primary site, it will directly block the trachea and affect breathing or make it difficult for tracheal secretions to be discharged, causing breathing difficulties.

Sign 3: Cervical lymph node metastasis: It can metastasize to the middle deep cervical lymph nodes on the same side, and may metastasize to the opposite side in the late stage.

Symptom 4: Inner ear pain: When laryngeal cancer develops to a certain extent and produces ulcers and severe inflammation in the throat, it can cause reflex pain in the nerves. Early vocal cord tumors generally do not produce reflex pain. Reflex pain mainly occurs in patients with supraglottic tumors in the middle and late stages.

Sign 5. Other symptoms: Laryngeal cancer symptoms include early thickening of the vocal cords, congestion on one side, roughness and unevenness of the surface, and the appearance of granular protrusions on the surface of the vocal cords, which later become papillary or cauliflower-like masses. After a while, the movement of the vocal cords is restricted or fixed. In the late stage, it often becomes an ulcer and develops to the upper and lower parts of the larynx, invading the adjacent tissues of the larynx, and metastasis to the cervical lymph nodes.

Relevant surveys show that the incidence of laryngeal cancer in men is 10 times that of women, and the mortality rate of laryngeal cancer in men is also higher than that in women. One of the reasons is that more men smoke than women, and the more they smoke and the longer they smoke, the greater the possibility of laryngeal cancer. The earlier laryngeal cancer is discovered, the more normal laryngeal tissue can be preserved during surgery, and the impact on pronunciation, breathing and swallowing functions after surgery will be relatively small. In addition, the occurrence of laryngeal cancer is also related to air pollution. Long-term inhalation of harmful gases can easily induce laryngeal cancer. Doctors remind that for middle-aged and elderly men who have the habit of smoking and drinking, advocating smoking cessation and alcohol restriction can not only prevent laryngeal cancer, but also avoid the occurrence of many other diseases in the body.

Smoking is harmful to health, which has always been advocated. Nowadays, even though we see these words, we still don't give up the pursuit of it. This is because we don't realize its harmfulness. The same is true for excessive drinking. Many patients with advanced laryngeal cancer find that the disease is irreversible, and tears and regrets are useless. Stay away from bad habits, stay away from tobacco and alcohol, and eat a healthy diet to get rid of the fatal symptoms of laryngeal cancer.
