Early prevention, diagnosis and treatment of gastric cancer

Early prevention, diagnosis and treatment of gastric cancer

Gastric cancer is the most common malignant tumor of the digestive tract, with the age of onset being mostly between 40 and 60 years old. According to experts, the incidence of gastric cancer has been gradually increasing, and it has become a major cancer that endangers people's health. Therefore, early detection and early treatment are the most critical means to reduce the mortality rate of gastric cancer.

Most patients with gastric cancer have no early symptoms. In the early stages of gastric cancer, only some patients have mild indigestion symptoms, such as upper abdominal pain, slight fullness, pain, belching, nausea, etc., which can be easily confused with gastric ulcers and gastritis. Among the 400,000 new gastric cancer patients in my country each year, the surgery rate for early gastric cancer is less than one-tenth. In recent years, the use of gastroscopy has enabled more gastric cancers to be detected in the early stages, greatly reducing the mortality rate of gastric cancer. If gastric cancer is limited to the gastric mucosal layer.

Changes in the nature of pain Ulcers are characterized by regular pain. Gastric ulcers are painful when you have a full meal. The pain occurs half an hour to two hours after a meal and disappears before the next meal. Duodenal ulcers are painful when you are hungry, also known as empty stomach pain. The pain usually occurs a few hours after a meal and lasts until the next meal. The pain may be alleviated or completely disappear after eating. Some patients may experience pain at night. Once the nature of the pain of a gastric ulcer changes, you should be alert to the possibility of cancer and go to the hospital for examination as soon as possible.

Gastric ulcer patients over 40 years old who are obviously emaciated may have symptoms such as loss of appetite, aversion to meat, nausea, vomiting, vomiting of old food or dark red food, poor nutritional status, obvious weight loss, fatigue and weakness in a short period of time, and the effect of drug treatment becomes worse. These may be signs of malignant transformation.

A fixed mass appears. Some patients with gastric ulcers can feel a hard mass with an uneven surface in the pit of their stomach. The mass grows rapidly and is painful when pressed. This may be a malignant transformation.

Unexplained black stools are usually seen after eating a lot of blood from pigs, sheep, chickens, etc., or after taking certain medicines. If an ulcer patient has unexplained black stools, or if there is blood in the stool, special attention should be paid and further investigation should be conducted, as this is often a precursor to malignant transformation.

Most people's stomach problems are caused by eating. To prevent stomach cancer, you should control your mouth in advance. The diet should not be too salty and eat less smoked food. Because high-salt and smoked foods can cause carcinogens in the epithelial cells of the gastric mucosa. Quit smoking and drink less strong alcohol. Tobacco itself contains carcinogens. Smokers are half as likely to have stomach cancer as non-smokers, and the younger the age of starting to smoke, the higher the mortality rate. Alcohol can damage the gastric mucosal barrier. The incidence of stomach cancer in those who drink strong alcohol can be several times that of non-drinkers. Try to eat regularly, avoid eating too fast, eating hot and hard food, and overeating. Try to implement the "separate chopsticks system". Half of the normal people carry Helicobacter pylori that can promote gastric cancer. Eating from a big pot with chopsticks and parents feeding their children mouth to mouth can spread the disease.
