Postoperative care for patients with esophageal cancer after radical surgery is as follows: (1) Nutritional supplementation. Diet should be given according to the patient's swallowing ability. For patients with severe anemia, dehydration, and malnutrition, blood transfusion, fluid replacement, intravenous hypernutrition, etc. should be considered as appropriate to improve the patient's overall condition. (2) Strengthen oral care and keep the oral cavity clean. For patients with obvious esophageal stenosis and inflammation, oral intestinal antibiotics can reduce inflammation and edema. (3) Closely observe the patient's incision exudation, keep the local area clean, and pay close attention to any signs of incision infection, dehiscence, and anastomotic leakage. (4) Diet care: The time of eating should be appropriately delayed after colon esophageal replacement surgery. 1) 5-7 days after the operation, the eating time can be determined according to the recovery of gastrointestinal function, the tension of the anastomosis during the operation, and the blood supply. Start with drinking a small amount of water and eat liquid or semi-liquid food. 2) Eat small and frequent meals. Avoid eating before going to bed or while lying down. Walk slowly or sit upright for half an hour after eating to prevent food from reflux. Do not tie your belt too tightly and avoid bending your head after eating. 3) Give more high-protein, high-vitamin, low-fat, low-residue diets, and observe whether there is obstruction, pain, vomiting, diarrhea, etc. after eating. If symptoms are found, stop eating. |
