Common symptoms of kidney cancer

Common symptoms of kidney cancer

The main complaints and clinical manifestations of kidney cancer patients vary and are easily misdiagnosed as other diseases. The kidney is hidden in a hidden location and its main connection with the outside world is urine. Therefore, hematuria is the most common symptom of kidney cancer. For many years, hematuria, pain and mass have been called the "triad" of kidney cancer. The following are common symptoms of kidney cancer.

1. Hematuria

Hematuria is often painless and intermittent. The whole process of hematuria is visible to the naked eye, and the interval shortens as the disease progresses. When kidney cancer bleeds a lot, it may be accompanied by renal colic, which is often caused by blood clots passing through the ureter. The blood clots in kidney cancer hematuria may form strips due to passing through the ureter.

2. Lump

About 1/3-1/4 of kidney cancer patients can be found to have enlarged kidneys when they seek medical treatment. Because the kidneys are hidden, it is difficult to find a mass before kidney cancer reaches a considerable size. Generally, a mass felt in the abdomen is already a late-stage symptom.

3. Low back pain

Most cases are dull pains, localized in the waist. The pain is often caused by the growth of the mass and the swelling of the renal capsule. Blood clots passing through the ureter can also cause waist pain. When the tumor invades the surrounding organs and waist muscles, the pain is more severe and continuous.

4. Pain

This is also a late-stage symptom, in which the renal capsule or renal pelvis is pulled by the gradually growing tumor, or the tumor invades and compresses the connective tissue, muscles, lumbar vertebrae or lumbar nerves on the posterior abdominal wall, causing persistent pain in the affected side of the waist.

5. Other symptoms

Unexplained fever, or metastasis when just discovered, with pulmonary symptoms such as fatigue, weight loss, loss of appetite, anemia, cough and hemoptysis. In addition, many symptoms are caused by tumor endocrine activity, including polycythemia, hypotension, hypertension, hypercalcemia, and febrile syndrome.
