Precautions for lung cancer patients taking Chinese medicine

As people's health awareness gradually improves, traditional Chinese medicine treatment methods are favored by patients. Many lung cancer patients also often follow the doctor's advice and insist on taking Chinese medicine, which can increase efficacy and reduce toxicity. However, patients should also pay attention to the following during the medication period.

Note 1

There is a type of Chinese medicine that has the effect of softening and dispersing nodules. Cancer patients generally use this type of medicine. However, the medicine for removing tumors and softening and dispersing nodules may contain toxicity. When decocting the medicine, it should be put in first and decocted for about 1 hour to reduce its toxicity. After taking the medicine, patients should pay attention to whether there are symptoms of poisoning such as numbness in the mouth, edema of the lips, burning sensation in the throat, or even loss of taste, slurred speech, hoarseness, etc. If any symptoms occur, they should stop taking the medicine immediately and go to the hospital for detailed examination.

Note 2

Most of these drugs are cold in nature and can easily damage the spleen and stomach. It is recommended that patients take them 2 hours after meals. After taking them, pay attention to appetite, vomiting, white tongue coating, etc. If any abnormalities are found, the dosage should be appropriately reduced and taken in small amounts and multiple times. People with weak constitutions are advised not to take these drugs to avoid the opposite effect, which is not conducive to health.

Note 3

When taking blood-activating and stasis-removing drugs, patients should pay attention to whether they have bleeding tendencies, such as bleeding gums, subcutaneous bleeding spots or a small amount of bleeding in the lesions, and patients with digestive tract tumors and ulcers should use it with caution. Family members should pay attention to observe changes in the patient's complexion, consciousness, pulse, breathing, menstruation, etc. and the temperature of the limbs during the patient's medication to avoid physical harm.
