Patients with gastric cancer pain should not use painkillers at will

Pain is a problem that almost all gastric cancer patients have to face. If the pain is tolerable, it is fine. However, if the pain is unbearable, it will seriously affect the patient's mood, thus having an adverse effect on the treatment. Usually the clinical method to relieve the patient's pain is drug therapy, but not all patients can take painkillers, and there are contraindications to taking painkillers.

1. Active gastrointestinal peptic ulcer and recent gastrointestinal bleeding are the primary contraindications for all nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory analgesics. In addition, ulcerative colitis is also prohibited from using such drugs, otherwise it will aggravate the condition. Suppositories should not be used when there is inflammation around the rectum and anus. Inactive peptic ulcers and severe gastritis also need to be used with caution. If necessary, gastric mucosal protective agents should be taken at the same time, such as various sucralfate preparations, and the medication should be taken immediately after meals.

2. People with a history of asthma or allergic rhinitis should take painkillers with caution or avoid taking them.

3. People with renal insufficiency are prohibited from taking certain non-steroidal anti-inflammatory analgesics, especially propionic acid drugs (such as ibuprofen, naproxen, fenbid, ketoprofen, etc.), otherwise it will cause further damage to the kidneys.

4. People with severe hypertension and congestive heart failure cannot use this type of drug. If used without authorization, it can easily cause fluid retention and antagonize the effects of diuretics, thereby aggravating the condition. The use of indomethacin and ibuprofen should be strictly avoided.

5. Patients with liver dysfunction and significant reduction in blood cells should use painkillers with caution, because painkillers can cause liver damage and even liver toxicity. Liver function and blood routine should be monitored at all times.
