Kidney cancer was misdiagnosed as subcapsular hematoma and treatment was delayed

A year ago, Mr. Li had been feeling back pain. He thought that as people get older they tend to have more ailments, either leg pain or back pain. He didn't take it seriously at first. Although his wife urged him to go to the hospital for a check-up many times, he didn't listen. Until one day when he was urinating he found blood in his urine. Mr. Li could no longer sit still and went to the hospital for a check-up immediately.

Misdiagnosed as subcapsular hematoma

After questioning by the doctor and CT examination, it was diagnosed as right renal subcapsular hematoma. The doctor said that if the symptoms are mild, they can be relieved by rest. However, Mr. Li's hematoma was too large and required treatment, so Mr. Li underwent laparoscopic hematoma removal + renal capsule stripping.

Second treatment

Then Lao Li went home to recuperate, but the good times didn't last long. Just two months later, Lao Li had a hematoma again, accompanied by a fever. This time, under the persuasion of his son, Lao Li went to the provincial hospital for treatment.

After a detailed examination, the doctor found that Mr. Li had a cancerous lesion in his right kidney. The lesion was 4.5cm*5cm in size and had accumulated in the renal capsule. The hematoma was caused by bleeding caused by the tumor. Fortunately, there was no lesion in the fat capsule and the end of the ureter. The adrenal gland was slightly congested.

As the patient had a fever, the doctor first gave him cooling and anti-infection treatment. After the infection was over, he underwent radical nephrectomy. Postoperative pathology showed papillary renal cell carcinoma.
