Postoperative hyperthermia care for patients with lymphoma

Postoperative hyperthermia care for patients with lymphoma

High fever is a common complication after surgery for lymphoma patients. If not treated in time, persistent high fever can lead to serious consequences such as shock, causing great pain to the patient.

The following methods can effectively relieve the high fever of patients with lymphoma after surgery:

1. When the high fever just starts, the patient may experience chills. At this time, do not rush to take antipyretic measures. You can keep the indoor air fresh and adjust the room temperature.

2. When the fever is high, physical energy is consumed quickly. You can remove excess clothes and quilts from the patient, rest in bed as much as possible, and reduce activity to restore physical strength.

3. Patients with high fever should drink more water as much as possible, and their diet should be light and easy to digest, and they can supplement with high-protein foods.

4. If the patient sweats profusely, he should change clothes in time and keep warm.

5. When the armpit temperature is 39℃, you can use a soft towel or sponge to gently wipe the whole body for 15 to 30 minutes to dilate the blood vessels to achieve the purpose of heat dissipation. You can also use physical methods such as ice compresses on the head and alcohol baths to cool down.

6. Patients with high fever should also pay attention to oral care and are encouraged to rinse their mouths more often. Lip oil can be applied when the lips are dry.

7. Antipyretic drugs such as promethazine, compound aspirin, and moxibustion can be used under the guidance of a doctor, and body temperature, pulse, and breathing changes should be closely observed. Patients with high body temperature should receive oxygen inhalation. Be careful to avoid overdose or repeated use of drugs in a short period of time to avoid collapse.
