What are the treatment options for ovarian tumors

Ovarian malignant tumor disease in women has a serious impact on the female body, so it is necessary to understand the various coping methods and measures of the disease, so that you will not be distraught after the disease occurs, and thus calmly and firmly treat the disease. It brings positive significance. I hope patients can master the following content.

Surgical treatment:

During surgery, detailed exploration should be performed first, including cytological examination of peritoneal washings or peritoneal effusions, palpation of the diaphragm, pelvic and abdominal organs, pelvic lymph nodes, and retroperitoneal lymph nodes, in order to accurately stage the tumor. The surgical methods for early-stage patients are divided into comprehensive staging surgery and fertility-preserving staging surgery.

The scope of thorough surgery includes: bilateral uterine adnexa and greater omentum appendectomy, pelvic and retroperitoneal lymph node dissection. For patients with extensive tumor implantation and metastasis in the pelvis, it is recommended to perform tumor cell reduction surgery as much as possible.

Chemotherapy:

Because ovarian tumors spread very early, surgery is often unable to remove the lesions, and the effect and application of radiotherapy are also very limited. Therefore, systemic chemotherapy is an important auxiliary treatment method. After chemotherapy, the tumors of some advanced patients can be reduced, creating favorable conditions for reoperation. This is the treatment method for ovarian cancer.

Radioimmunotherapy:

The radiosensitivity of ovarian malignant tumors varies greatly. Ovarian endodermal sinus tumors are immature, teratomas and embryonal carcinomas are the least sensitive, ovarian epithelial cancers and granulosa cell carcinomas are moderately sensitive, and dysgerminomas are the most sensitive. They can all be controlled by radiotherapy after surgery. Since ovarian cancer occurs early and metastasizes to the abdominal cavity, the irradiation range should protect the abdominal cavity and pelvic liver and kidney areas to avoid radiation damage. The radiation dose for the entire abdominal cavity is 3000cGY~5000cGY/6~8 weeks, which is also the treatment method for ovarian cancer.

There are many advanced methods for the treatment of ovarian malignant tumors in clinical practice, but any method can cause very serious trauma to patients. Patients need to strengthen their beliefs and effectively fight the disease. Only by persisting effectively for a long time can they achieve the final victory.
