Preoperative preparation for breast cancer

Preoperative preparation for breast cancer

Surgery plays a very important role in the treatment of breast cancer patients and is the preferred method for treating breast cancer. Scientific and reasonable surgery is of great help to the treatment effect and patient prognosis. To reduce postoperative disability and mortality rates, preoperative preparations must be done carefully.

1. Correct diagnosis

If a tumor is suspected in the breast, a correct diagnosis must be made to determine the nature of the lesion and whether it is a malignant tumor. Diagnosis can be made by using methods such as puncture needle biopsy, nipple discharge cell biopsy, excisional biopsy, X-ray examination, and B-ultrasound examination.

2. Raise patient awareness

Reasonable surgery can often improve the patient's quality of life, reduce the pain of the disease, and may even cure the disease. Before the operation, the doctor should also carefully explain the surgical method and the patient's condition, so that the patient can fully understand the surgery and the possible prognosis, increase confidence, and actively cooperate with the doctor.

3. Preventing Complications

Any surgery has certain risks. Before the operation, the patient's important vital organs such as the heart, brain, lungs, liver, and kidneys should be examined, and necessary treatment should be given to possible complications to reduce their chances of occurrence.

4. Evaluate your tolerance level

Before surgery, the patient's general condition and surgical tolerance should be fully assessed to select the most appropriate treatment method.
