Three effective methods for diagnosing brain cancer

Three effective methods for diagnosing brain cancer

Brain cancer is a very serious tumor disease. Because it occurs in the brain, it often causes lesions throughout the body, which is very harmful to brain cancer patients. What are the common diagnostic methods for brain cancer ? The following is a brief introduction to the common diagnostic methods for brain cancer.

In general, the common diagnosis methods for brain cancer are:

1. Electroencephalogram

It is valuable for locating fast-growing brain tumors in the cerebral hemispheres, where the amplitude and frequency of the affected side can be seen to be reduced, but it is not very helpful for diagnosing brain tumors in the midline, deep in the hemisphere, and under the tentorium. The EEG topography developed after the 1970s can graphically display the location and range of intracranial lesions and is more sensitive to the diagnosis of brain tumors than conventional EEG. It is mainly manifested as abnormal slow wave power in the tumor area and around the tumor area, and is an effective screening method before CT examination. This is a common diagnostic method for brain cancer.

2. Brain CT scan

This method of diagnosing brain cancer has a detection rate of over 90% for brain tumors. It can easily display the size, shape, number, location, density and nature of lesions, and has clear anatomical relationships. It is currently the main method for diagnosing brain cancer.

3. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)

It can show the vast majority of intracranial tumors and peritumoral edema, and can accurately show the location, size and shape of the tumor, which is very effective in diagnosing brain cancer. It is an important additional examination method for CT, especially for tumors of the skull base and brain stem close to the bones, such as benign astrocytomas on the tentorium, which can show autologous abnormalities, making up for the missed diagnosis of CT without abnormal findings. Therefore, MRI is more suitable for the diagnosis of early brain cancer.

The above is an introduction to the common diagnosis methods of brain cancer. I hope it will be helpful to everyone. Once you have brain cancer, you must go to the hospital for treatment immediately to avoid serious delays in the disease.
