Hyperthermia can be effectively used in the treatment of cervical cancer

With the rapid development of medical technology, there are more and more treatments for cervical cancer. Modern people no longer require the treatment of diseases to be more than just curing them. Recent clinical treatment experiments have found that hyperthermia can also be well used in the treatment of cervical cancer , and hyperthermia is more effective than simple radiotherapy.

Hyperthermia, which increases the temperature of the tumor to 40 to 45°C, can more effectively control the metastasis of bladder, cervical and rectal tumors. Radiotherapy plus hyperthermia is more effective than radiotherapy alone in the treatment of pelvic tumors, especially cervical cancer.

The study involved 358 patients with bladder, cervical, and rectal cancer. Some patients were treated with radiation therapy alone, and some were treated with a combination of radiation therapy and heat therapy. The treatments were given once a week for five weeks. Each heat therapy session lasted 90 minutes, and the radiation therapy lasted between one and four hours.

After comparison, it was found that only 39% of the tumors of patients who received radiotherapy disappeared completely, while 55% of the tumors of patients who received thermotherapy plus radiotherapy disappeared completely. Among the three types of tumors, cervical cancer is the most sensitive to thermotherapy. 83% of cervical cancer disappeared after radiotherapy and thermotherapy, while radiotherapy only made 57% of cervical cancer disappear. In addition, thermotherapy increased the three-year survival rate of cervical cancer patients by 24%, which has a good effect on the treatment of cervical cancer. Thermotherapy has almost no side effects, but some patients complain that the tube used to heat the tumor makes them feel uncomfortable, and some suffer from burns.

The above is an introduction to heat therapy as a treatment for cervical cancer. We hope that by understanding this safe and effective treatment, cervical cancer patients will have more confidence in the treatment of cervical cancer, thereby maintaining a positive attitude towards the disease and achieving better treatment results.
