Cell phone radiation does not increase the incidence of brain cancer

A study published by the Danish Cancer Society on the 11th showed that using mobile phones does not increase the risk of brain cancer, but the society also recommends that people, especially children and teenagers, use headphones when making phone calls.

Christopher Johnson, a professor of medicine who led the study, said: "This study clearly shows that using mobile phones does not increase the risk of brain cancer." Johnson said this conclusion is consistent with the results of other studies on whether electromagnetic radiation from mobile phones is dangerous.

In the Danish Cancer Society study, researchers surveyed 427 brain cancer patients and 822 non-brain cancer patients about their cell phone use, including how often they used their phones, the duration of calls and how long they had owned the phones. Another result of the study showed that cell phone use was not associated with the location of brain tumors. The study showed that brain cancer patients who often used their left ear to answer the phone did not often have tumors in the left brain, and the same was true for brain cancer patients who used their right ear to answer the phone.

Although many studies have shown that mobile phone radiation does not increase the incidence of brain cancer, Johansen also pointed out that mobile phones are still a relatively new thing and their impact on health may not be obvious. The Danish Cancer Society still recommends that people, especially children and teenagers, try not to put their mobile phones close to their ears when using them, but use headphones.

"Mobile phones were only introduced in Denmark in the 1980s, so it is too early to tell whether their radiation will have a negative impact on the brain in the long term," Johansen added. "But since we have not found any evidence of brain cancer from mobile phone use in 20 years, it is hard to imagine that mobile phone use could be a major factor in the risk of brain cancer."
