How long does it take for acute mental disorder to heal

Acute mental disorder is a mental illness. When it occurs, the patient will have certain mental problems. If not controlled, it will not only affect the patient's safety, but also the normal life of those around him. Acute mental disorders can be effectively prevented and treated through certain methods, and how long it takes for the patient to recover depends on the treatment plan adopted by the attending physician.

1. Introduction to the disease

Any symptoms or signs of mental abnormality can be called a mental disorder. According to the cause, it can be divided into non-organic mental disorders and organic mental disorders. According to the severity of the disease, it can be divided into severe mental disorders and non-severe mental disorders.

Schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, persistent delusional disorder, schizoaffective disorder, mental disorders caused by epilepsy, and mental disorders associated with mental retardation are considered severe mental disorders.

If a person is suddenly stimulated by mental factors and experiences short-term mental abnormalities and a short period of recovery to normal mental state, it can be called an acute transient mental disorder.

Psychological factors are closely related to mental disorders. Some foreign scholars believe that both normal and abnormal behaviors are the result of conflicts between conscious and unconscious desires or instincts. Psychological disorders or mental illnesses are mainly the result of anxiety and emotional defense reactions caused by the subconscious conflict between the id's desires and the superego's control.

2. Clinical manifestations

Under sudden external stimulation, every normal person may more or less experience acute transient mental disorder symptoms, such as depression, anxiety, increased blood pressure, accelerated heart rate, flushed face or fear, pale complexion, cold sweats, weakness in the limbs, and even hostility. However, most people can calm down their mentality in a short period of time. A few people cannot control their emotions and even commit violent acts to hurt others and themselves, such as in traffic accidents.

3. Prevention and Treatment

1. Get away from the source of stimulation as soon as possible;

2. Taking deep breaths and moving your waist, legs and limbs can help adjust your mental state;

3. You can take a small amount of sedatives to relieve tension, anxiety, and panic.
