1. If the purchased test paper is stored for too long (more than 1 year), or the test paper is damp and not kept at normal room temperature (should not be refrigerated), it may become invalid and result in a false negative test result.

2. If the pregnancy has just begun, or there is a possibility of ectopic pregnancy, the HCG level in the body is generally low. The test sample needs to be left to stand for more than 3 minutes (usually only 1 minute), and it is necessary to carefully identify whether there is a weak positive - the color band in the test area only appears faintly.

3. In extreme cases, such as hydatidiform mole and choriocarcinoma, the HCG level in the body will be too high and the urine test will not show a positive result.

4. After 3 months of pregnancy, HCG levels decrease and urine tests may sometimes show negative or weak positive results.

5. A positive result does not mean 100% pregnancy. Because some tumor cells, such as hydatidiform mole, choriocarcinoma, bronchial carcinoma and renal cancer, can also secrete HCG. We have also encountered patients with endometrial hyperplasia who tested positive for HCG. Therefore, if women of childbearing age experience amenorrhea, they should not rely solely on a single pregnancy test to determine whether they are pregnant. To be on the safe side, you can test again after 3 days.
