Foods that are good for the gallbladder

Foods that are good for the gallbladder

The gallbladder has a great relationship with a person's emotions. People who are often angry or in a bad mood are prone to gallbladder disease. This is mainly because emotional fluctuations can affect the contraction and pain of the gallbladder, and in severe cases can cause gallbladder blockage. Therefore, it is necessary to maintain an optimistic mood and protect the gallbladder. In addition to emotions, diet is very beneficial to the health of the gallbladder. So what are the foods that are good for the gallbladder?

Six things to pay attention to and five taboos to protect the gallbladder

The "six musts" are: First, pay attention to food and drinking water hygiene. Wash fruits and vegetables before eating them raw, and then rinse them with boiling or cold water to prevent ingestion of roundworms and residual pesticides. Develop a good habit of drinking boiled water instead of raw water. Second, eat more foods containing vitamins, such as green vegetables, carrots, tomatoes, spinach, cabbage, etc. You should eat more fruits such as bananas and apples.

Third, use vegetable oil to cook, and the dishes you eat should mainly be stewed, braised, or steamed. Fourth, eat lean meat, chicken, fish, walnuts, black fungus, kelp, seaweed, etc. regularly. Fifth, eat more foods that can promote bile secretion, relax the bile duct sphincter, and have a bile-producing effect, such as hawthorn, black plum, and corn silk (brew them into tea and drink slowly). 6. Eat dry meals and don’t keep your stomach empty for too long.

In addition, two points should be noted: first, exercise regularly to prevent constipation; second, obese people should plan to lose weight, because obesity will promote the secretion of large amounts of cholesterol and aggravate the condition.

The "five taboos" include: avoid eating foods with high cholesterol, such as animal hearts, livers, brains, intestines, egg yolks, preserved eggs, caviar and chocolate. Second, avoid eating high-fat foods, such as fatty meat, lard, and fried foods. It is also not advisable to eat too much oily pastries, because too much fat can cause the gallbladder to contract and cause pain.

The third taboo is to eat and drink excessively during festivals or gatherings with relatives and friends. Because overeating will promote the secretion of large amounts of bile, and the strong contraction of the gallbladder will cause gallbladder inflammation, local colic, etc. Fourth, avoid eating spicy condiments, such as chili pepper, chili oil, five-spice powder, pepper powder, etc.

Fifth, avoid smoking, drinking, coffee, etc. These irritating foods can cause excessive stomach acid, violent contraction of the gallbladder, leading to spasm of the sphincter of the bile duct opening, difficulty in the excretion of bile and sweat, and inducing biliary colic.
