Sequelae of nasal bone fracture

Sequelae of nasal bone fracture

The nose is a key part of our facial beauty, and this part also directly determines our breathing function. But such a vital organ is actually very fragile and can easily be fractured by a small collision. A broken nose cannot usually be corrected and requires surgery for complete treatment. But this problem cannot be ignored, otherwise it will cause serious and irreversible sequelae, which will affect our body and appearance.

Because the external nose protrudes significantly from the face, it is easily injured by collisions, falls, bullets and shrapnel. External nasal trauma accounts for 50% of nasal trauma, among which lacerations and nasal bone fractures are the most common. The type of fracture is generally related to the direction and magnitude of the violence. External nasal trauma is often accompanied by nasal septum trauma, resulting in cartilage dislocation, bending, fracture, mucosal tear and nasal septum perforation.

In fact, when a nasal bone fracture occurs, it will bring serious harm to the operator. If it is not treated and corrected in time, it is likely to cause many sequelae. So what are the specific sequelae of nasal bone fracture? In fact, the most common ones are nose displacement, nose swelling, deformity, etc., which require effective treatment of rhinoplasty repair surgery to eliminate the pain caused by the sequelae of rhinoplasty.

Sequelae of nasal bone fracture:

(1) Displacement and deformity: The sequelae of nasal bone fracture are mainly displacement and deformity. The type of nasal bone fracture depends on the nature, direction and magnitude of the violence.

(ii) Simple contusion shows external nasal swelling and subcutaneous hematoma, which is also one of the sequelae of nasal bone fracture.

(3) If the nasal septum is fractured or dislocated, nasal congestion may occur, the nasal septum cartilage deviates from the midline, protrudes into one side of the nasal cavity near the nasal vestibule, the mucosa is torn, and the cartilage or bone is exposed. If hematoma occurs under the nasal septum mucosa, bulging will appear on one or both sides of the septum.
