Root canal treatment sealing medicine

Root canal treatment sealing medicine

People with dental diseases need to undergo several rounds of treatment to cure the disease. Most of the treatments for bad teeth are done through root canal treatment with sealing medication. When a tooth is inflamed, it is necessary to apply sealing medication first, which may take from one to four times. For particularly serious cases, four sealing medications may be required before continued treatment. Teeth are very important to us. We only have one chance to keep them in our lifetime, so we must protect them and develop good care habits.

1. How many times should root canal treatment be sealed?

If it is clean, it only takes 2 times. If the infection is serious, it is best to seal the root canal 4 times before performing root canal treatment. Prescribing more medicines is troublesome for both you and the doctor. In principle, you should just follow your doctor's instructions on how many times to prescribe medicines. It is best to wear braces on the treated teeth to prevent them from being damaged by biting.

2. What can I eat after root canal treatment?

The temporary sealing material after root canal treatment is relatively soft and is not suitable for eating hard food. Try not to chew with the affected teeth and do not eat hard food. You can brush your teeth and rinse your mouth, but don't remove the sealed medicine. Pay attention to oral hygiene, avoid fatigue, pay attention to rest, maintain adequate sleep, and pay attention to nutritious diet. Do not eat spicy or irritating food, do not eat with the affected teeth, eat with the opposite side, and brush your teeth normally.

3. Precautions after root canal treatment

First, teeth become more brittle after root canal treatment and should be repaired with inlays or crowns to prevent tooth fracture and extend the life of the teeth.

Second, you may experience brief discomfort during or after root canal treatment, which can usually be relieved by taking anti-inflammatory or analgesic drugs. If local swelling and pain occur, you should inform your doctor for treatment.

Third, for some patients with chronic apical periodontitis, the apical inflammation of the lesion is in a dormant state during treatment, or there is just a tendency for an acute attack. The subjective symptoms are not obvious, and there is only slight percussion pain when seeking medical treatment. During treatment, the doctor needs to flush the root canal. If the patient has low resistance and does not take anti-inflammatory drugs in time after treatment, acute inflammation will occur, causing pain.
