Myopia is caused by the ciliary muscle of the eyeball being too convex, causing the cornea attached to it to bulge along with it, focusing the image of the object in front of the retina, resulting in clear views of nearby objects and blurry views of distant objects.

Myopia treatment: Through calculation, ablation and thinning of the corneal stroma, the convexity of the cornea is changed, and the focus is moved from in front of the retina to on the retina.

How to treat astigmatism + myopia at the same time?

Astigmatism and myopia are treated simultaneously by analyzing the data and corneal images of the preoperative astigmatism and myopia degree, and adding astigmatism treatment parameters to the original simple myopia surgery. The treatment steps are equivalent to the original pure myopia surgery.

There are two methods of laser treatment:

Femtosecond laser

1. Open a layer of cornea with femtosecond laser

2. Based on preoperative analysis or personalized settings during surgery, use excimer laser to scan the raised or rough areas

3. After laser treatment, cover the corneal flap

All-femtosecond laser

1. Based on preoperative analysis, personalized intraoperative settings, and high-microscopic observation, a femtosecond laser is used to perform two deep and shallow scans on the cornea to form a microlens. During the spraying process, the rough areas are treated again.

2. Use a femtosecond laser to make an incision of about 2 mm and remove the microlens

Generally speaking, myopia and astigmatism surgery is performed with laser treatment, but laser surgery needs to meet more than 20 surgical examination standards. Laser surgery cannot be performed if the degree is too high or the cornea is too thin.

Treatment plan for high myopia and high astigmatism

We know that people with myopia and astigmatism can wear frame glasses. ICL lens implantation is to replace these glasses with a material that is more in line with the shape of the cornea and implant it between the cornea and the iris.
