Positive symptoms of psychosis

Modern people are under great pressure in life. Many people with weak psychological endurance are prone to mental problems, which cause great damage to their lives. For example, mental illness is a very common symptom in life, and the harm of mental illness to patients is extremely serious. Mental illness can also be divided into negative and positive. Let’s take a look at the positive symptoms of mental illness.

Positive symptoms of psychosis

1. Sleep disorders: The most common sign of schizophrenia can be manifested as difficulty falling asleep, frequent dreams, early awakening, etc. For example, lying in bed with wild thoughts and tossing and turning, waking up easily, reduced sleep time, etc. Due to the deterioration of sleep quality, patients may have obvious dark circles under the eyes, listlessness, constant yawning and tears, and other uncomfortable symptoms.

2. Emotional instability: After a period of relative stability, the patient's mood swings become more severe again, such as getting angry over a trivial matter, worrying or becoming depressed, being slow to respond to the outside world, and easily getting into conflicts with family members or neighbors. The above symptoms are all manifestations of emotional disorders and indicate the possibility of relapse.

3. Abnormal food intake: During the recovery period, the patient may suddenly overeat or eat too little, which may be accompanied by changes in eating habits and mild dysphagia. The above symptoms indicate that the eating disorder has reappeared and should attract the attention of the patient and his family.

4. Changes in lifestyle habits: During the recovery period, the patient may suddenly be unable to maintain his or her previous regular lifestyle habits, such as suddenly staying in bed or getting up early, changes in meal times, cessation of original habitual activities (usually without a clear reason), etc. These abnormal changes may indicate the possibility of relapse and should attract the attention of the patient and his or her family.

Generally speaking, schizophrenia patients have basic symptoms or core symptoms, but not every schizophrenia patient has "additional symptoms". If as the disease progresses, the patient does not show or only shows a small amount of "additional symptoms", and the "basic symptoms" are still the main ones, it is called simple or core type of schizophrenia. This type of patient will not fight or make a fuss even when the disease progresses to the most serious stage. The only abnormal behaviors that ordinary people can perceive are the patient's difficulty in socializing, talking to himself, and laughing alone.
