Clothes have a peculiar smell after being stored for a long time

The clothes we wear are usually related to the seasonal climate. In order to keep warm or cool and meet different body needs, different clothes are needed in different seasons. After the change of season, we often put the clothes of the previous season into the closet and will not take them out to wear until the next year. Therefore, many people find that clothes will have a strong odor if they are kept in the closet for too long. How should we solve this problem?

1. Hair dryer method

Everyone has a hair dryer at home, but most people only know that it can be used to blow hair. Who would have thought that it can also remove odors from clothes? First, hang up the clothes, and then set the hair dryer to cold air mode; use the hair dryer to blow the clothes inside and out at a close distance (about 5 cm) for 10-15 minutes, let the strong wind take away the odor of the clothes, and then you can put them on beautifully and go out. It should be noted that if you use the hot air setting, the blowing nozzle should be at least 20 cm away from the clothes to avoid damage to the clothes caused by high temperature.

2. Steam method

During the evaporation process, water vapor can carry away the odor molecules on the fibers, thereby achieving the effect of removing odor. After taking a shower in winter, the bathroom is full of steam. At this time, hang the clothes in the bathroom, close the door, and let the clothes steam in the "sauna" all night. When you take them out the next day, the clothes will no longer have a smell, and there may even be a lingering sweet smell of shower gel.

3. Care agent spray method

Clothing care products usually have a pleasant smell. Soak your clothes in it after washing, and the sweet fragrance will linger for a long time. In fact, the care agent can also be used as a spray. Prepare a spray bottle, add clean water, and then add an appropriate amount of clothing care agent. Just spray a few times on smelly clothes and the scent of the care agent can cover up the original odor on the clothes. Isn’t it very practical?

4. Ironing method

If you have an iron at home, ironing is the best method. First, spread the clothes flat on the table, then place a towel that has been soaked in clean water and wrung out on the clothes, and iron the clothes through the towel. Why iron through a towel? Because when clothes are ironed through a towel, the odor is transferred to the towel. It can be said to be amazing! So it’s best not to use too good a towel.

5. Activated carbon adsorption method

Everyone knows that activated carbon has a strong adsorption function and can be used to absorb odors. The peel also has a good adsorption effect. Wrap the activated carbon with fruit peels, then put it into the folded clothes with odor, and the odor will be absorbed away.

6. Liquor Law

White wine can be used to remove odors from quilts and clothes. Because the alcohol in white wine is an organic solvent and has good volatility, it can "grasp" odor molecules firmly and take away the odor during evaporation, which can be said to be "silent and subtle" deodorization. So when hanging clothes, you can put the leftover white wine at home in a spray bottle, spray it a few times on the places with odor, and then keep it ventilated. If you think the smell of alcohol is too strong, you can add water to the spray bottle to dilute it.

With so many tips, you don’t have to worry about any odor on your clothes! Wearing nice-smelling clothes when you go out will make you feel better.
