My stomach aches after eating

The feeling of having a full meal can make people very satisfied, but having a full meal is very bad for health, because having a full meal will increase the burden on the stomach, causing a certain impact on the function of the gastrointestinal system. Moreover, people are prone to some abnormal manifestations after having a full meal, which brings certain painful symptoms to the body. For example, a dull pain in the stomach is a common manifestation. Let’s take a look at how to treat a dull pain in the stomach after having a full meal?

It may be caused by gastritis or peptic ulcer. Pain after meals should be especially noted as it may be caused by gastric ulcer. Upper abdominal pain is the main symptom of this disease. It is mostly located in the upper abdomen, but may also appear in the left upper abdomen or behind the sternum or xiphoid process. It often presents as dull pain, bloating, or burning pain. The pain of gastric ulcer usually occurs within 1 hour after a meal, gradually eases after 1 to 2 hours, and the above rhythm returns after the next meal. Some patients may be asymptomatic, or may have complications such as bleeding and perforation as the first symptoms.

treat

1. Generally, medication is used according to the treatment principles of peptic ulcer

First, drugs that reduce damaging factors are used, such as antacids, anticholine drugs, H2 receptor antagonists, proglumide, synthetic prostaglandin E2 and omeprazole, etc. At the same time, drugs that protect the gastric mucosa are given, such as sucralfate, bismuth, carbenoxolone (carbenoxolone), etc. Completely eradicate Hp. Since it is currently believed that Hp infection is related to this disease, active treatment is required.

2. Upper gastrointestinal bleeding caused by gastric ulcer

It may manifest as vomiting blood or blood in the stool. Go to the hospital immediately. The main hemostatic measures include: ① H2-receptor antagonists or proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) to increase and maintain gastric pH; ② endoscopic hemostasis; ③ surgical treatment; ④ interventional treatment.

Dietary advice

Patients with gastric ulcers need to pay attention to the following in their diet:

Eat food that has no mechanical or chemical stimulation, is low in dietary fiber, and is easy to digest.

Avoid eating unprocessed potatoes, vegetables and fruits rich in crude fiber, gravy and soup that easily stimulate gastric acid secretion, indigestible glutinous rice and nuts, strong condiments, strong tea, coffee, alcohol, etc.

Eat small meals frequently, 5 to 6 meals a day. In terms of cooking methods, it should be chopped, softened, or pureed.
