Chest tightness after myocardial infarction surgery

Chest tightness after myocardial infarction surgery

There are many heart diseases, and if heart disease is not caused by genetic factors, it is very common in some elderly people. Common heart diseases include myocarditis, myocardial infarction, etc. If you suffer from myocardial infarction, you need timely surgical treatment. Some people will experience chest tightness after undergoing myocardial infarction surgery. So what causes chest tightness after myocardial infarction surgery?

1. What causes chest tightness and shortness of breath after a heart attack?

1. To see whether the stent surgery is successful after a myocardial infarction, if there is no severe angina pectoris, chest tightness and shortness of breath within 1 year, according to the symptom description, it seems that the stent surgery is not successful. It is recommended to observe. If the symptoms worsen, another angiography is needed to see the results.

2. Stent implantation after myocardial infarction only treats the infarcted or severely narrowed blood vessels, and cannot treat all narrowed blood vessels. In addition, there may be narrowing of branch blood vessels. In this case, it is normal to still have symptoms, which require regular drug treatment to improve. If the symptoms disappear after stent treatment and then reappear, and if the symptoms are similar or different from before, you should promptly have an electrocardiogram checked if you experience discomfort such as chest tightness, as there is a possibility of thrombosis in the stent.

2. Why do you feel chest tightness and shortness of breath after heart stent surgery?

1. Incomplete revascularization

The so-called interventional treatment is to implant a stent at the site with the most severe stenosis. However, some lesions are not suitable for interventional treatment because the stenosis is relatively mild or small or is located at a distant end. Therefore, chest tightness may occur.

2. Restenosis after stenting

After stent surgery, some patients do not follow the doctor's orders to take medication regularly, continue to smoke and drink, do not exercise, do not change their eating habits, and do not control their blood pressure, blood sugar, blood lipids, etc., which may lead to restenosis after stent surgery.

3. Drug effects

If the medication method after stent surgery is inappropriate or if there is already a digestive system disease, the drug may irritate the stomach and cause stomach or esophageal discomfort, which can easily be confused with chest discomfort and be misunderstood as chest tightness. Some medicines may also have the side effect of causing chest tightness.

4. Psychological effects

After stent implantation, some patients become too nervous and anxious, and their attention is overly focused on the precordial area, which causes psychological discomfort and symptoms of chest tightness.

5. Coronary artery spasm

Coronary artery spasm refers to a transient constriction of the coronary arteries, causing partial or complete occlusion of the blood vessels. Coronary vasospasm may occur in patients with normal coronary angiography. Coronary artery spasm can cause chest tightness, chest pain and other discomforts.
