The urine after fever smells like anti-inflammatory medicine

We all know that we must take anti-inflammatory drugs to reduce fever during a fever, because only in this way can the symptoms be relieved. However, some people will have a strong odor in their urine after a fever. Some people feel that this odor is the smell of anti-inflammatory drugs. Because the body is hot when having a fever, the urine will boil, and the urine excreted naturally will also be different.

Treatment principles

1. Treatment of the cause

Actively treating the cause of fever is the fundamental solution to fever. For example: for infectious fever, choose effective drugs for treatment according to the source of infection; actively rehydrate patients with dehydration; when a drug reaction occurs, immediately stop taking the drug and conduct anti-allergic treatment, etc.

2. Cooling treatment

For infectious fever, fever itself is one of the manifestations of the body's immune system clearing the source of infection. Unless the fever is high and the patient is seriously unwell or strongly requests it, there is usually no need to rush to use antipyretics and other drugs. However, the patient must be informed and his or her understanding must be obtained. Patients with high fever must be cooled down.

(1) Physical cooling ① Use ice packs. Place the ice packs on the head, armpits and groin. Wrap the ice packs with a dry towel before use. ② Alcohol wipe bath: use 35%~50% ethanol solution for wipe bath. The patient lies on his back and wipe from the neck down along the outside of the arm to the back of the hand. Then change to a small towel and wipe from the armpit along the inside of the arm to the palm. Use the same method to wipe the opposite side; then, wipe from the groin through the legs to the feet. Then have the patient lie on his side, start from the back of the neck, and wipe the entire back from top to bottom. It should be noted that while wiping, the patient needs to be gently massaged. When wiping near large blood vessels (such as armpits, elbows, groin area, fossa, etc.), you should stay for a while to improve the therapeutic effect. During the wiping process, if the patient experiences chills, pale complexion, or abnormal pulse or breathing, the operation should be stopped immediately.

(2) Drugs for cooling down fever: The following drugs can be used for patients with high fever: aspirin, 0.3-0.6 g, taken orally, once every 4 hours if necessary; anandamide injection 2 ml, injected intramuscularly; bupleurum injection 2 ml, injected intramuscularly; analgin nasal drops can also be used; if the high fever persists, glucocorticoids such as dexamethasone can also be considered.
