When people have severe coldness in their bodies, they often get nasal congestion due to fans or air conditioners. When facing the problem of nasal congestion, everyone needs to pay attention. You can use a wet towel to hot compress the nose or fumigate with hot water, and use appropriate massage methods to relieve nasal congestion.

Treatment and care of nasal congestion

1. Self-massage: The patient sits flat and uses the thumb and index finger to rub the sides of the nose from top to bottom for 3 minutes, then rub the Yingxiang point for 1 minute. When the nasal cavity feels hot, the breath will be unblocked. Do this every 2-3 hours and the nasal congestion will disappear naturally after 2 days. If the nasal congestion is caused by a severe cold with mild fever, massaging the Fengchi and Hegu points may also be helpful.

2. Fumigation method: Use 20 ml of vinegar, heat and evaporate it. The patient inhales the steam and the nasal congestion will be relieved. You can also chop the scallion or onion, boil it, breathe naturally, and inhale the water vapor from the scallion and onion, which will soon eliminate your nasal congestion.

3. Packing method: Apply a hot towel to the nose for 5-10 minutes each time, 3 times a day, which has a certain effect.

4. Seek medical attention promptly: In addition to nasal symptoms such as nasal congestion, runny nose, and mouth breathing, acute sinusitis may also present with fever, headache, sore throat, irritability, and other symptoms. If your baby has a cold, parents should first actively seek treatment. Take your baby to see an ENT doctor in time, and choose antibiotics reasonably under the doctor's guidance to completely cure the disease and prevent recurrence.

5. Drug therapy: If the baby has severe nasal congestion that affects breathing, you can use 0.5% ephedrine furacillin drops carefully under the guidance of a doctor. It usually takes a few minutes to work. However, ephedrine has side effects on babies and is not suitable for excessive or long-term use, so as to avoid causing atrophic rhinitis and affecting the olfactory sensitivity of the nose.

6. Replacement therapy: When the baby has a lot of purulent nasal discharge, you can ask the doctor to do replacement therapy to clear out the purulent secretions in the sinuses. When giving medication to your baby, you must do so under the guidance of a doctor to avoid harming the baby's health.
