What causes blisters on feet

What causes blisters on feet

Most people will have athlete's foot, because athlete's foot is not only contagious, but also caused by wearing non-breathable shoes. When athlete's foot attacks, the itching is so unbearable that you want to take your feet off. At this time, you should wash your feet frequently and spray medicine on your feet to treat athlete's foot. You should also change and wash your shoes frequently, and it is best to expose them to the sun for disinfection. Develop good hygiene habits in daily life.

Cause

Athlete's foot is caused by fungal infection that damages the skin of the feet. Athlete's foot fungus is a moisture-loving fungus, and the space between human toes is most suitable for fungus growth and reproduction. The fungus of tinea pedis is extremely resilient and can survive for a long time in a dormant state in arid deserts and frozen environments. It will not die even if it is exposed to 120 degrees Celsius for 20 minutes. Fungi are difficult to kill. Its pili have an adsorption function and will tightly hook onto tissue cells. Its flagella are organs of movement, so fungi can move.

The incidence of athlete's foot is also related to lifestyle habits. Bad hygiene habits often increase the incidence of tinea pedis. Some people do not pay attention to foot hygiene and the condition of their shoes and socks, providing a good breeding ground for fungi. Some people also like to pick their toes with their hands, which damages the skin of the feet and spreads tinea pedis. If someone in the family suffers from tinea pedis and is not given proper treatment and has close contact with others, it may be transmitted through contact. Items used by tinea pedis patients are often not disinfected, and healthy people are also susceptible to infection after using them.

Symptoms of athlete's foot

Symptoms: It is more common in adults and can occur in both men and women. It often gets worse in summer and gets better in winter, and it can be mild or severe at times, often lasting for a long time. Medically, athlete's foot is usually divided into three types: erosive type, blister type, and scaly and keratotic type.

1. Erosive type: often occurs between the third and fourth, and between the fourth and fifth toes. Initially, the spaces between the toes are damp and whitish. After drying and scaling, the scaly skin is peeled off to reveal a moist, reddish eroded surface or accompanied by cracks, which is extremely itchy and prone to secondary infection.

2. Blister type: often occurs on the edge and sole of the foot. Initially, they appear as small blisters with thick and full walls. Some of them may merge into large blisters. The blister fluid is transparent and there is no redness around them. The patient feels extremely itchy, and scratching often leads to secondary infection, such as erysipelas and lymphangitis.

3. Squamous keratotic type: often occurs on the heel and the edge of the foot. Fungal infection causes the skin to become dry, thick and scaly, and prone to cracking. This type of disease has no blisters or suppuration, has a slow course, and often does not heal for years. Most patients develop the disease from the erosive or blistering type.
