Is there a difference between procrastination and laziness

Many people in their lives procrastinate when doing something. People call this behavior procrastination. Another common situation in people's lives is laziness. Many people don't know the connection between procrastination and their own laziness. Some think there is a difference between the two situations, while others think there is no difference. So, is procrastination different from laziness?

First, is there a difference between procrastination and laziness? The difference between procrastination and laziness Procrastination is a psychological problem, and is often associated with laziness, and it is difficult to tell which category you belong to. Simply put, procrastination has some overlap with laziness, but it does not refer to laziness. From the meaning of the word, "procrastination" refers to the postponement behavior that has negative consequences and can be avoided; while "laziness" is a word for daily life. The factors related to procrastination are generally lack of confidence, lack of motivation, impulsive distraction and distant rewards, while the factors related to laziness are generally slackness, love of leisure and hate of work, lack of desire for action, etc., which are mainly due to the lack of motivation rather than psychological reasons. From the root cause of laziness, postponing something due to lack of motivation is not necessarily procrastination, but sometimes it is a form of self-protection. But when this thing has to be done and it is more beneficial to do it in time, the postponement caused by "laziness" can be regarded as procrastination. In this way, people in the "lazy" state may be enjoying themselves instead of having negative emotions. In addition, from the perspective of the causes of procrastination, it is by no means limited to "laziness". Emotional problems, distraction problems and delay problems (i.e.: distant rewards) may all cause procrastination. Therefore, it is too arbitrary to directly label yourself or others with these two labels.

Second, the psychological state of procrastination. These people like to believe that they have special talents or "extraordinary" potential, but secretly, they are afraid that this is not the case. They dare not try their best, fearing the possibility of discovering that they are not as smart, talented, or special as they imagined. They also procrastinate. They don't seek the psychiatric care they need so they can blame their lack of success on their anxiety. They abuse drugs and alcohol so they can blame their hangovers and insomnia. They accepted the task but failed to put it into practice. Ironically, their fear of failure ultimately holds them back from success. Their self-esteem may be protected for a while, but in the long run, they miss their goals and end up living with regret and a sense of failure.

Is there a difference between procrastination and laziness? Some staff members who lack self-confidence always have to face difficulties of one kind or another at work, and they are bound to encounter major setbacks at work. People who are not confident in themselves will have a strong escape mentality, thinking that they are not capable enough, and want to get rid of things when they encounter them. They will not face them if they can avoid it, and they cannot handle their work well at all, and they will procrastinate when encountering problems. In fact, the main reason is that I don't work hard enough; I just want to do something but don't do it. Some people are ambitious, full of fantasies about work tasks and work plans, and they can talk about it endlessly, but they are reluctant to put them into practical action. Thinking and doing are never on the same level. Such people can be said to be procrastinators; they are lazy and always feel that work is very difficult. They always suggest that they can't handle it, and they are unwilling to take the initiative to deal with work actively. They are lazy and decadent at work, and feel that it is difficult to do anything.
