As we all know, the human throat is the part used for vocalization. Throat pain often occurs in life. At this time, the person's speaking voice will change, and the pain will worsen when speaking. In addition, people often have throat inflammation, and similar symptoms will also appear. Many people confuse the throat with the larynx, so what is the difference between the human throat and the larynx? Difference between Throat and Larynx: The pharynx is composed of three parts. The first is the oropharynx: that is, when you open your mouth, you can see the soft palate, uvula, tongue, and tonsils on both sides. The cavity formed between the uvula and the tongue, including the tonsils (its posterior wall is called the posterior pharyngeal wall), is called the oropharynx; the cavity from the uvula to the back end of the nasal cavity (which can only be seen with the help of a nasopharyngeal endoscope) is called the nasopharynx; the cavity from the root of the tongue downward to the upper edge of the epiglottis (which can only be seen with an indirect laryngoscope) is the laryngopharynx; and the larynx is further down from the laryngopharynx. The pharynx and larynx are both components of the upper respiratory tract, and their mucous membranes are continuous with each other. Of course, it is difficult to clearly distinguish whether the disease is in the oropharynx or the laryngopharynx. This is why it is difficult to clearly define pharyngitis and pharyngitis. However, laryngitis and pharyngitis can be clearly distinguished because the function of the larynx is to produce sound. Only when there is a change in the sound does it indicate a laryngeal disease. Anatomically, the pharynx can be divided into three parts: the nasopharynx, the oropharynx, and the laryngopharynx. The nasopharynx is located at the back of the nose. The oropharynx is located at the back of the mouth and includes the tonsils. The hypopharynx or lower laryngopharynx is also called the hypopharynx. Sore throat in a broad sense includes the pain in the above three parts, while sore throat in a narrow sense refers to the pain in the oropharynx. Sore throat is what ordinary people call a sore throat or sore tonsils. The two terms overlap in meaning. It is difficult to define using scientific language and falls under the category of symptomatology. The difference between the causes of pharyngeal cancer and pharyngitis The main cause of pharyngitis is a decrease in the body's resistance caused by cold, fatigue, excessive smoking and drinking, etc., which allows some bacteria to enter and cause pharyngitis. Patients with malnutrition, heart, kidney and joint diseases are also prone to pharyngitis. Suffering from pharyngitis may also be related to the living and working environment. The main cause of laryngeal cancer is that certain carcinogenic chemicals in tobacco enter the tongue mucosa under the action of alcohol solvent. There are also some material factors, such as dental braces, tooth decay, poor oral hygiene, mechanical damage, and frequent entrapment of fish bones. There are also biological carcinogenic factors such as genetics, nutritional metabolic disorders, etc. |
