How often should 3D B-ultrasound be performed?

The three-dimensional B-ultrasound that everyone often talks about actually refers to three-dimensional color ultrasound, which is a more advanced B-ultrasound. First of all, the examination results are in color, and secondly, they can be seen more clearly. Now when pregnant women go to the hospital for prenatal check-ups, they would rather spend more money and choose to do three-dimensional B-ultrasound. This method can observe the entire process of fetal growth and can also play a role in three-dimensional positioning. At how many weeks of pregnancy does the three-dimensional B-ultrasound need to be done?

How often should 3D B-ultrasound be performed?

Literally speaking, color ultrasound and B-ultrasound have similar meanings. Color ultrasound can be divided into many types, including three-dimensional color ultrasound, four-dimensional color ultrasound and so on. I have introduced four-dimensional color ultrasound many times before. Today, the editor would like to introduce to you how many weeks is the best to do three-dimensional color ultrasound and some of the differences between it and four-dimensional color ultrasound. I hope it will be helpful to you.

How many weeks is it best to do 3D color Doppler ultrasound

It is usually better to do a three-dimensional color ultrasound between 22 and 26 weeks. It is usually used to check whether the baby has any deformities. The most important thing is that you can see the baby's development, the baby's biparietal diameter, head circumference, abdominal circumference, femur length, etc.

What are the differences between 3D and 4D color Doppler ultrasound?

Color ultrasound, three-dimensional color ultrasound, four-dimensional color ultrasound. Color ultrasound is actually still in black and white, and three-dimensional and four-dimensional color ultrasound may be khaki when producing three-dimensional and four-dimensional images. It is not the case that color ultrasound is always in color. It is called color ultrasound because it uses colors to mark indicators such as the heart and blood flow. The resolution of color ultrasound is higher than that of ordinary black and white B-ultrasound, so when a more detailed examination is needed, more doctors are willing to use color ultrasound. Because the blood flow can be marked with color, when the umbilical cord is wrapped around the neck, you will see a U-shaped or W-shaped blood flow on the baby's neck, making it easy to tell at a glance whether the umbilical cord is wrapped around the neck.

The images of three-dimensional and four-dimensional color ultrasound are generated later. It does not mean that the observed images are three-dimensional or four-dimensional. Instead, they are still observed with ordinary color ultrasound, and then the observed plane images are converted into three-dimensional or four-dimensional stereo images through the conversion software in the instrument. To put it more bluntly, if similar software is installed on your home computer, you can convert ordinary B-ultrasound images into three-dimensional ones at home. In terms of diagnosis, three-dimensional color ultrasound and four-dimensional color ultrasound are not any more advantageous for diagnosis. They just allow people who do not understand B-ultrasound images to see the appearance. Their significance lies in that you can see the baby while it is still in the belly.

The difference between three-dimensional color ultrasound and four-dimensional color ultrasound lies in the "time dimension", that is, three-dimensional color ultrasound is a picture, and four-dimensional color ultrasound is a video, which allows pregnant mothers to see a series of movements of the fetus.

Four-dimensional color ultrasound is dynamic, while three-dimensional color ultrasound is static, so four-dimensional color ultrasound will appear clearer. Three-dimensional color ultrasound can only be a photo taken at a certain point in time, while four-dimensional color ultrasound can be made continuous like DV and can be burned into a CD. Three-dimensional color ultrasound and high-definition four-dimensional color ultrasound have the same function of detecting abnormalities, but high-definition four-dimensional color ultrasound is more accurate.
