Why do I urinate so frequently?

Urinating is a very normal metabolic function of the human body. Many toxins in the human body are excreted through urination. When urinating is excreted from the body, it also regulates the balance of water and salt in the body. However, in life, many people have experienced frequent urination. When this happens, it will have a certain impact on life and work. Especially at night, frequent urination will affect the quality of sleep.

Kidney deficiency

Generally speaking, from the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine, going to the toilet frequently at night is a sign of kidney deficiency. If the kidney qi is insufficient, the water channels cannot be controlled, resulting in symptoms such as frequent urination at night.

The main symptoms of kidney qi deficiency are shortness of breath, spontaneous sweating, fatigue, pale complexion, spermatorrhea, premature ejaculation, dribbling after urination, frequent and clear urination, soreness of the waist and knees, hearing loss, cold limbs, and a weak pulse.

Solution:

If you have kidney deficiency, you should nourish your kidneys. Men can eat more mutton, donkey meat, pigeon meat, etc. to nourish the kidneys; women can eat more walnuts, black dates, lotus seeds, yam, etc. to nourish the kidneys.

Renal tubular insufficiency

At night, the activities of other organs weaken, and the renal blood flow increases, which increases the amount of glomerular filtrate. If the renal tubular concentrating function is impaired, the decreased reabsorption of the filtrate will lead to increased urine volume. Therefore, increased nocturia can be regarded as an early symptom of renal tubular dysfunction.

Solution:

Discover it early and go to the hospital for dialysis examination and relevant treatment in time. It is mainly divided into general treatment and special treatment. In general treatment, you should pay attention to rest, and how to rest depends on the condition. According to the different types of diseases and the degree of lesions, appropriate diet therapy should be adopted. Control infection, eliminate primary lesions, treat primary diseases, adjust water and electrolyte balance, enhance the body's disease resistance, etc. In special treatment, different treatment plans are also adopted according to different types of kidney disease.

Inflammatory stimulation

If you suffer from prostatitis, cystitis, urethritis, vulvitis, etc., the continuous pain caused by the inflammation will irritate the organs, and is usually accompanied by symptoms such as frequent urination, urgency, and pain when urinating.

Solution:

If you experience frequent urination and discomfort caused by urinary irritation, you should still get checked to see if there is any problem. Drink plenty of water and do an ultrasound and urine routine test. If prostatitis is diagnosed, timely treatment is required until recovery to avoid worsening of the disease and causing a lot of trouble to the patient. In addition, avoiding spicy foods and drinking plenty of water can promote the elimination of inflammatory secretions.

Suffering from high blood pressure and diabetes

Patients with hypertension and diabetes have renal artery sclerosis, reduced blood flow, and insufficient blood supply, which causes the kidney's dilution and concentration function to gradually decline and increase urine volume, especially at night.

Solution:

Eat more foods that lower blood lipids and blood pressure, such as okra, raw celery juice, fungus, avocado, bitter melon, etc., and eat less greasy, high-sugar foods. If the condition is serious, it is recommended to go to the hospital for relevant professional treatment.

Physiological factors

If you drink a lot of water before going to bed, especially if you are used to drinking strong tea, coffee or taking diuretics, the amount of urine at night will increase. For example, caffeine can dilate the renal blood vessels and increase the blood flow to the glomeruli, thereby increasing the water penetration and detoxification function of the kidneys. Therefore, coffee has a diuretic effect.

Solution:

Try to avoid drinking water, tea, coffee or other liquids before going to bed. Generally speaking, it is best to drink a glass of water (about 200ML) about half an hour before going to bed, and then go to the toilet once before going to bed. This can not only replenish the body's needs, but also help avoid frequent urination at night.

Psychological factors

When the mind is overly tense, the central nervous system of the brain will become overexcited, affecting the normal urine storage and urination function of the bladder. Even if the bladder does not store much urine, frequent urination, urgency and incontinence may occur. The amount of urine excreted each time is very small and drip-like, and there is a feeling of incomplete urination.

Solution:

Try to relax and stay in a good mood. Lie on the bed in a relaxed state with your eyes closed, put your limbs in the position that makes you most comfortable, relax your whole body, and listen to some light music with gentle tunes and slow rhythms, or learn to listen to the sounds of nature, such as rain, insects, etc. This will help you relax your tense nerves and anxious and nervous mood, and thus speed up the process of falling asleep.

Also, you can do some exercises to relax your body before going to bed, such as combing your hair before going to bed. Combing your hair frequently can have a massaging and stimulating effect, especially combing your hair before going to bed, which can dredge blood flow in the head, improve the brain's thinking and forgetting abilities, promote nutrition to the hair roots, eliminate brain fatigue, and help you fall asleep early.
