1. The prerequisite for being awake is to have sufficient energy

If you usually go to bed at one or two o'clock and then want to get up at four or five o'clock every day, it is undoubtedly an act of overdrawing your body. It would be strange if you are not sleepy in the morning. We do not recommend it at all. So generally speaking, the prerequisite for waking up early is to go to bed early (depending on the specific situation, there are exceptions), and the prerequisite for being awake is to have sufficient energy.

So if you want to get up early and stay awake and be in good condition in the morning, then you'd better go to bed at ten or eleven o'clock.

2. Receive light: turn on the lights at home or open the curtains

Light and wakefulness are closely related because it involves the most basic biological laws, which is why we work during the day and sleep at night. Normal people are also energetic during the day and start to feel sleepy at night. This is related to two hormones secreted by the human body:

①Melatonin:

During the day, when exposed to light, less melatonin is secreted. When the light is dimmed at night, the level of melatonin in the body increases. Therefore, the secretion of melatonin has a circadian rhythm.

② Brain serotonin:

Melatonin secretion is regulated by light and serotonergic neurons. Serotonin production decreases due to increased stress, lack of sleep, poor nutrition, and lack of exercise. When it drops below the required amount, people will have problems such as difficulty concentrating, which will indirectly affect personal planning and organizational abilities. This condition is often accompanied by feelings of stress and boredom, and if serotonin levels drop further, it can cause depression.

Therefore, light, adequate sleep, and normal stress levels are closely related to waking up early.

In addition, getting up early, opening the curtains and windows, breathing in a breath of fresh air, and instantly increasing the oxygen content in your body can also help improve your alertness.

3. Increase body temperature: warm up with exercise

There is a certain curve relationship between human sleep and body temperature. Generally speaking, during the day, the body temperature will drop slightly at noon to remind you to rest for a while, and then at night the body temperature will drop to the lowest level of the day. So if you have just woken up and your body temperature has not yet returned to normal, then if you can raise your body temperature by doing some exercise, it will be very helpful for you to wake up. In the morning, gentle and non-strenuous exercises are usually chosen.

On the one hand, it is body temperature, and on the other hand, it promotes blood circulation throughout the body and increases oxygen supply to the brain, which is a double aid for wakefulness.

4. Wash your face with cold water/take a bath with hot water

Whether in winter or summer, it is best to wash your face directly with cold water. This has two benefits. The first is that it can wake you up quickly and enhance immunity. The second is that cold water has a beauty effect and is better for the skin. Of course, if you are in a place where it is snowing, it is better to use warm water!

A hot bath after getting up can eliminate your fatigue and promote blood circulation throughout the body.

5. Turn on the music

When you wake up in the morning, you can turn on some wake-up music, so that you can get up while listening to the wake-up music, and your whole body will quickly wake up with the rhythm of the music.
