How to heat squeezed milk

How to heat squeezed milk

Milk is a drink that is loved by many people. Many people drink a glass of milk every day in their daily lives. Milk is rich in protein, amino acids, fat and a variety of trace elements. Regular consumption of milk is helpful in promoting bone development, body growth, enhancing resistance and helping sleep. According to people's habits, milk must be heated before drinking it, and there are many ways to heat milk.

Method 1: Microwave Heating

Heat on medium heat for 1 minute

Misconception: High temperature can sterilize, so milk should be heated in a microwave oven on high heat.

It is unscientific to heat milk in a microwave oven, as it can easily cause the loss of nutrients in the milk.

Whether a microwave oven will destroy the nutritional components of milk depends on the length of the heating time. The longer the time and the higher the temperature, the more serious the nutrient loss. If the heating time is too long, the protein in the milk will denature and coagulate, changing from a sol state to a gel state, producing sediment and affecting the quality of the dairy product. Moreover, the food cannot be stirred when heated in a microwave oven. If not properly controlled, the milk fat and protein can easily become stuck to the inner wall of the container, causing nutritional loss.

Heating tips: Lin Ya reminds that if you want to heat it in a microwave, the heating time should not be too long. Generally, set the heat to medium-low and heat 250 ml for about 1 minute, otherwise the nutrients will be destroyed. But be aware that microwave heating will result in uneven temperature, so remember to stir it before drinking.

Method 2: Boil in a pot

Milk nutrition is destroyed when it is heated to over 100℃

Misconception: Many people worry that milk may be contaminated with bacteria, so they boil the milk to sterilize it.

As long as it is fresh milk, such as pasteurized milk, it can basically be regarded as a fresh and clean milk source. There is also boxed milk on the market that does not need to be refrigerated. It is generally reconstituted milk and has been sterilized at high temperature. This temperature is higher than the sterilization temperature of fresh milk, so it can be consumed directly. If boiling is for disinfection, it is completely unnecessary.

When heating on a gas stove, do not use too high a heat. Cook on medium heat for 3 minutes or on low heat for 6 minutes. Turn off the heat when you see the milk starting to steam. This will not only kill the bacteria, but also preserve the various nutrients in the milk to the greatest extent.

Method 3: Heat the packaging together

Plastic bags will decompose harmful components under high temperature

The main component of milk packaging material is polyethylene, which will decompose and change when the temperature reaches 115°C, which may have an impact on human health. Therefore, you should never heat the milk together with the plastic bag in the pot. Below 100℃, general plastics will not cause problems. It is recommended to use water below 100℃ to heat milk.

All the milk on the market has been sterilized. The reason for heating it is to make the stomach warmer when drinking it. No matter what kind of packaging the milk is in, just warm it with warm water at about 40 to 50 degrees Celsius.

Method 4: Water heating

It does not destroy nutrients and is easy to control temperature

The best way to heat milk is to heat it in water, that is, pour the milk into a cup or other container, and then put it in hot water to warm it. You can adjust the temperature according to your personal taste. Although this method is more troublesome, it can avoid the loss of nutrients during microwave heating and boiling in a pot.

Fresh milk squeezed directly from the cow must be sterilized, such as heating it to 100℃ and boiling it for a while, and it can only be drunk after sterilization.
