How do I know if I have ovulated

Everyone knows that it is very easy to get pregnant during a woman's ovulation period. Many couples who are preparing for pregnancy are more concerned about the day when a woman's ovulation period occurs and whether the woman ovulates normally during the ovulation period. However, there are many factors in life that can affect women's normal ovulation every month, including the ovulation cycle and the quality of eggs. Therefore, women should pay more attention to caring for their physical health in life.

How do you know if you ovulated?

1. Measure basal body temperature

The simplest scientific method is to measure your basal body temperature after waking up early in the morning without getting up or doing any activity. If the body temperature measured 2 weeks before menstruation is more than 0.3 degrees Celsius higher than other times, it means ovulation has occurred. A few people feel lower abdominal distension or slight pain on the day when their body temperature rises from low level, and their vaginal secretions increase. The secretions are transparent or contain a little blood. This day is the ovulation day, but most people do not have this feeling.

This is a simple method that patients can master themselves. It has been reported that using other more accurate methods to determine ovulation in 10%-20% of women with monophasic basal body temperature. On the contrary, biphasic basal body temperature, confirmed by laparoscopy or B-ultrasound that there is indeed no ovulation, is seen in the luteinized unruptured follicle syndrome, which accounts for more than 6% of infertile women.

However, this method also has obvious disadvantages. Basal body temperature is not completely accurate in predicting whether ovulation occurs. Basal body temperature can predict the ovulation date. Clinically, we have observed that 48.28% of women ovulate when their body temperature is lowest or one day before the temperature rises. The rest ovulate one to two days before and one to two days after the lowest body temperature, with a difference of five days, which is not accurate enough. Experts from the China Eugenics and Family Planning Network said that for those with regular menstrual cycles, except for a few patients with luteinized unruptured follicle syndrome, biphasic basal body temperature can be considered as normal ovulation.

2. Method for calculating menstrual date.

It is believed that each ovulation should occur about 14 days before menstruation, so the 5 days before ovulation to the 5 days after ovulation is called the "ovulation period." However, this method is less reliable because most women have irregular periods. In comparison, the first two methods are more reliable, but somewhat troublesome. Here is a simple and reliable calculation method, the calculation formula is:

First day of ovulation = the number of days in the shortest menstrual cycle minus 18 days

The last day of ovulation = the longest menstrual cycle minus 11 days

Before using this formula for calculation, the individual is required to observe and record his or her menstrual cycle for 8 consecutive times to obtain the longest and shortest number of days in his or her menstrual cycle. The numbers obtained by substituting them into the above formula represent the beginning and end time of the woman's "ovulation period" respectively. (The menstrual cycle is calculated from the first day of the current menstrual period to the first day of the next menstrual period) For example, the longest menstrual cycle of a woman of childbearing age in the first 8 months is 30 days and the shortest is 28 days. Substituting the formula into the formula is:

The first day of ovulation = 28 days - 18 days = 10 days The last day of ovulation = 30 days - 11 days = 19 days That is:

This woman's "ovulation period" starts on the 10th day of this menstrual period and ends on the 19th day of this menstrual period.

Ovulation calculation method

1. Aquino Law

The Aquino method is also known as the mathematical formula method, which means that the ovulation day is about 14 days from the last day of the menstrual cycle (that is, the first day of the next menstruation). If the next menstrual period is on the Nth day, then the ovulation day this time is the N-14th day.

2. Ovulation test paper method

The luteinizing hormone (LH) in women's urine will reach a peak level 24-48 hours before ovulation. Using ovulation test strips can more accurately detect the peak level of LH. After starting the test, you should test regularly every day. When the color is about to reach the peak, you should test every 12 hours until the LH peak is detected.

3. Basal body temperature measurement method

Measure and record your basal body temperature for six to twelve months. Your basal body temperature will rise by 0.3-0.5℃ after ovulation. Women who are planning to get pregnant can buy a thermometer and shake it to below 35°C before going to bed every day. Every morning when they wake up (after 6-8 hours of sleep), they should measure their temperature immediately without doing any exercise.

4. Leucorrhea observation method

During a menstrual cycle, the nature of leucorrhea changes periodically. Generally speaking, leucorrhea is drier, thicker and less in quantity. During ovulation, the leucorrhea will become clear and transparent, like egg white, with a high degree of stringiness. This is because higher concentrations of estrogen are produced during ovulation, which acts on the columnar epithelial cells at the cervical opening, causing them to secrete a large amount of leucorrhea.
