How to Remove Red Wine Stains

When drinking red wine, if you accidentally spill it on your clothes, it will form ugly red wine stains. If you don’t pay attention to timely cleaning, it will often make it difficult to clean. At this time, you can use some tips to remove red wine stains. For example, if you have vodka at home, you can use it to remove it, or you can use milk or soda water to remove it, the effect is good.

How to Remove Red Wine Stains

1. Vodka to remove wine stains

The reason why red wine appears red is because it contains anthocyanins, which are alcohol-soluble substances that can be dissolved in alcohol. Therefore, as long as you pour high-alcohol wine on the red wine stains, the anthocyanins will dissolve quickly and the stains will be easily removed. As we all know, vodka has a relatively high alcohol content, so it is not difficult to understand why vodka is used to remove wine stains.

2. Use milk to remove wine stains

Someone once tried soaking a piece of cloth in red wine, then cutting the cloth into two pieces, coating one piece with salt and soaking the other in milk. After an hour, rub both cloths with olive oil soap. The results show that milk beat its sodium opponent, which shows that milk is very effective in removing wine stains.

3. Use soda water to remove wine stains

Sparkling water has long been considered a great aid for removing red wine stains, and it is indeed so. The baking soda will carbonize the stain, thus removing the wine stain.

4. Salt, water and vinegar to remove wine stains

This method is divided into multiple steps. First, soak the clothing stained with red wine with cold water, then sprinkle a layer of salt until the color of the wine stain turns pink. Then pour boiling water and soak the wine stains on the clothes in the vinegar. Finally, rinse with clean water and the wine stains will disappear. This is a very effective method if you have enough time.

5. Use detergent and hydrogen peroxide to remove wine stains

Mix equal amounts of dishwashing liquid and hydrogen peroxide into a liquid, soak the wine stains in it, and then blot them dry.

6. White wine and baking soda to remove wine stains

If you have red wine stains on your carpet, first make a paste of baking soda and water in a ratio of 3:1. Then soak the wine stain in white wine. After the color of the wine stain becomes lighter, spread a thick layer of baking soda paste on the red wine stain. Allow about an hour to set, constantly misting the baking soda batter with water to prevent it from drying out. In the end you will find that the red wine stains are gone.
