Urea nitrogen and creatinine are substances secreted by the body and belong to the hormone sequence. They have a great impact on people's health. Therefore, the examination of urea nitrogen and creatinine is often one of the basic standards for diagnosing physical health. However, people often find abnormal urea nitrogen and creatinine values when undergoing physical examinations. For example, why are urea nitrogen and creatinine high? Causes of high urea nitrogen: 1. High renal level is seen in renal dysfunction caused by acute nephritis, chronic nephritis, toxic nephritis, severe pyelonephritis, renal tuberculosis, renal vascular sclerosis, congenital polycystic kidney and renal tumors. 2. Prerenal hyperactivity is seen in congestive heart failure, severe burns, shock, massive gastrointestinal bleeding, dehydration, severe infection, diabetic acidosis, adrenal cortex insufficiency, hepatorenal syndrome, etc. 3. Postrenal high levels are seen when urinary tract obstruction increases renal tissue pressure. Therefore, in order to clarify the cause of the disease, it is best to consult a doctor before deciding on treatment. Causes of high creatinine: Creatinine is a product of human muscle metabolism. In human muscles, creatine is mainly converted into creatinine through irreversible non-enzymatic dehydration reaction, then released into the blood and excreted in urine. Therefore, the reason why blood creatinine is high is closely related to the total amount of muscle in the body and is not easily affected by diet. Creatinine is a small molecule that can be filtered through the glomerulus and is rarely reabsorbed in the renal tubules. Almost all of the creatinine produced in the body daily is excreted in the urine and is generally not affected by urine volume. Finally, for ordinary people, since the activity of enzymes in each person's body is different, a slightly higher or lower uric acid level does not necessarily mean unhealthy. However, if during a physical examination, the uric acid level of men is close to 400μmol/L and that of women is close to 360μmol/L, it is recommended to have a recheck within 3 months. If there is no upward trend in the uric acid level, there is no need to worry too much. After the blood creatinine increases, the most important thing is to take treatment measures. Although the blood creatinine may not increase much, the renal function damage is already very serious. Because the kidneys have a strong compensatory function, the increase in blood creatinine may not be obvious in mild or moderate injuries. Generally, blood creatinine will increase significantly when renal function damage exceeds 80%. Therefore, if elevated blood creatinine is found, early treatment is required. |
