Skeletal muscle content standard

Skeletal muscle content standard

Various components in the human body have certain regional ranges and certain standard values. Once they exceed this regional range, they will have more or less problems. These problems can be big or small, but they will all have different degrees of impact on our bodies, including skeletal muscle, which also has a content standard. So what is the skeletal muscle content standard?

Muscle rate is a proportional value of the human body obtained by combining the total amount of human muscle with human weight, height, etc. The range of this value determines a person's physical health and strength.

People who pay attention to health generally pay attention to the amount of fat in their body, because it is well known that excessive fat content (obesity) can lead to many health problems, ranging from the most basic mobility problems to the most serious chronic diseases and tumors. However, many people do not know or ignore the important impact of another component of the body - muscle content - on health.

Muscle has a higher metabolic rate than fat. Maintaining a certain amount of muscle can promote metabolism and reduce the risk of chronic diseases related to metabolic disorders, such as atherosclerosis, dyslipidemia, and diabetes. For the same reason, people with more muscle content age more slowly and appear younger than people of the same age who lack muscle.

The calculation method of muscle rate is muscle rate = (muscle weight/body weight) × 100%. Muscle rate is a proportional value of the human body obtained by combining the total amount of human muscle with human weight, height, etc. The range of this value determines a person's physical health and strength.

Muscles are contractile human tissues that develop from the mesoderm of the embryo. Muscle cells have contractile fibers that move between cells and change the size of the cells. There are three types of muscles: skeletal muscle, cardiac muscle and smooth muscle, and their function is to generate force and cause movement. The contraction of cardiac muscle and smooth muscle is not under conscious control and is necessary for survival, such as the contraction of the heart or the peristalsis of the gastrointestinal tract.

Voluntary contractions of skeletal muscles are used to move the body and can be finely controlled, such as the movement of the eyes or the gross movement of the quadriceps muscles in the thigh. Voluntary muscle fibers are divided into fast and slow types. Slow muscle fibers can last longer but have less strength; fast muscle fibers contract faster and have greater strength, but also get tired faster.
