What does triglyceride mean

When we talk about triglycerides, many people don’t understand what it means. In fact, it is a very important indicator. Generally speaking, when people talk about high blood lipids, they are referring to increased triglycerides, which also means that there is a problem with people's health. Only by knowing more about this concept can we understand the disease and thus play a preventive role. So what are triglycerides? Next I will give you a detailed introduction.

What is triglyceride?

Triglycerides, also known as fat, are synthesized from dietary fat and the liver. They are fat molecules formed by long-chain fatty acids and glycerol. It is the most important type of blood lipid. They are insoluble in water and combine with proteins to form lipoproteins, which circulate in the blood. Diacylglycerol reacts with the third acyl-CoA molecule to form triglyceride, which plays a catalytic role. Triglycerides are the most abundant lipids in the human body. Most tissues can use the decomposition products of triglycerides to supply energy. At the same time, tissues such as the liver and fat can also synthesize triglycerides and store them in adipose tissue.

How to prevent high triglycerides

1. Reasonable diet: Reasonable diet is the basis for treating hyperlipidemia. Any patient with hyperlipidemia should undergo dietary treatment before drug treatment. Drug treatment should only be used when dietary treatment is ineffective or the patient cannot tolerate it (usually takes half a year to a year), because dietary treatment is the most physiological and effective measure.

2. Appropriate physical exercise: Exercise can increase consumption, improve lipid metabolism, and prevent the increase of body fat and blood lipids. Exercise can completely reduce the blood lipid levels of patients with hypertriglyceridemia to normal levels.

3. Appropriate physical therapy: When the above methods are not effective, other physical therapies should be used as a supplement, such as mineral baths, electromagnetic therapy for the liver area, etc. Electromagnetic therapy of the liver area can regulate liver metabolic disorders and thus correct hyperlipidemia.

With the brief introduction in the above article, I believe everyone already knows what triglycerides mean, and also understands some measures to prevent triglycerides in life. In short, in order to ensure your own health, you must develop good eating habits and exercise more. Even if you suffer from a disease, you must maintain a good attitude and cooperate with the doctor's active treatment.
