Why does my mouth feel sour after eating

Why does my mouth feel sour after eating

Food is particularly abundant nowadays, and we often see many fresh and different kinds of food. Therefore, many people are particularly careless about their diet and often eat and drink too much, which causes damage to the spleen and stomach in the body. When the stomach function is damaged, it causes some health problems. When you feel sour in your mouth after eating, you should pay attention because you may have a stomach disease.

Reasons for sour mouth after eating

1. Oral disease is the most common.

Some people do not pay attention to oral hygiene, and their oral mucosa, teeth, and periodontal tissues are infected by bacteria. A large number of anaerobic bacteria in the body decompose food residues and produce a large amount of sulfide, which emits a strong sour and corrupt smell.

2. The girl’s mouth tasted sour after eating.

This situation is related to physiological functions. The ovaries of adolescent girls are not fully developed. At this time, the oral cavity's disease resistance is reduced, and the oral cavity is prone to bacterial infection. Bacteria decompose oral residues to produce a large amount of sour substances.

3. Secretory dysfunction.

This condition is more likely to occur in menopausal women and the elderly. The endocrine function of these people begins to gradually decline, and even endocrine disorders occur, which indirectly leads to a decrease in saliva secretion. Saliva is very important for maintaining oral hygiene. If the saliva secretion is small, anaerobic bacteria will easily grow, and these bacteria will decompose food residues and produce sour and smelly smells.

4. After smoking, drinking, drinking coffee, eating onions, leeks and other foods

There is often a strange taste in the mouth. Some people like to eat at roadside stalls. Since the food hygiene of these roadside vendors is not up to standard and they may use rotten and spoiled ingredients, these ingredients will emit a sour smell.

Mouth hygiene care

Method 1

Avoid damaging the oral mucosa. Especially for people with irregular teeth or dentures, ulcers are likely to occur frequently due to friction of the oral mucosa. Therefore, it is necessary to correct bad habits such as biting lips, cheeks, and tongue, remove remaining teeth, or modify inappropriate dentures.

Method 2

Get enough sleep and avoid excessive fatigue. Long-term lack of sleep and excessive fatigue are common causes of recurrent oral ulcers. These improper behaviors will damage the body's yin and blood. When Yin is deficient, fire will be strong, which will often "come out" from the oral mucosa and cause oral ulcers.

Method 3

Keep your diet as light as possible. Eat more vegetables and fruits to keep bowel movements smooth and prevent constipation. “Diseases enter the body through the mouth”, and oral ulcers are no exception. Among the five flavors in food, spicy flavor is the most irritating. People who are prone to getting angry should try to avoid consuming too much spicy and hot food, such as chili, pepper, Sichuan pepper, raw garlic, onion, etc. Typical foods include Malatang, red oil hotpot, boiled fish, Maoxuewang, etc. In addition, foods with warm properties, including beef, mutton, bacon, crucian carp, hairtail, etc., as well as "hot" fruits such as lychee, orange, pineapple, longan, pomegranate, etc., can also cause internal heat if consumed in excess. It should be emphasized that drinking strong alcohol can also "add fuel to the fire."
