I feel like something is crawling on my face and it's a bit itchy

If there is really something crawling on your face, it will be fine after you remove it. However, if you feel that there is something crawling on your face but don't find anything when you look in the mirror, this situation will make people feel very weird. Feeling like something is crawling on your face and feeling a little itchy may be the initial symptom of an allergy. To understand the situation clearly, you need to learn as much as possible about the allergy and determine whether it is caused by this factor.

Skin allergy is an abnormal reaction of the body, which is an abnormal reaction of people to normal substances (allergens). Allergies will occur when allergens come into contact with people with allergic constitutions. There are hundreds of allergens such as pollen, dust, foreign proteins, chemicals, ultraviolet rays, etc. In the process of allergic reaction, allergic mediators play a direct role. Allergens are the external causes of allergic symptoms, while low immune capacity and oxidative damage to mast cells and alkali phagocytes by a large number of free radicals are the internal causes of allergies.

Causes

The causes of skin allergies include internal factors and external factors:

External factors: including diet, inhaled substances, climate, contact with allergens, etc. Among them, seafood, protein, spicy food, alcohol, inhalation of pollen, dust mites, cold weather, contact with chemicals, soaps, detergents, etc. are the most common causes of skin allergies.

Internal causes: Allergic substances combine with the bronchial mucosa, nasal mucosa, and skin blood vessels, causing allergic rhinitis with sneezing and runny nose, allergic asthma with constant wheezing, and allergic dermatitis with itchy skin. In the process of allergic reaction, allergic mediators play a direct role. Allergens are the external causes of allergic symptoms, while low immune capacity of the body and oxidative damage to mast cells and alkali phagocytes by a large number of free radicals are the internal causes of allergies.

In addition, according to traditional Chinese medicine theory and the latest research results, allergies are mainly caused by wind, dampness and heat in the blood and skin, or by blood heat and external wind. That is, it is closely related to the fact that there are certain toxins in the human blood.

Skin allergies can be roughly divided into the following types:

A. Dry skin allergy: No matter what season it is, the skin is always dry and rough. Once you apply lotion, you will feel slight tingling, itching, and sometimes redness and swelling. People with these symptoms suffer from dry skin allergy. The cause of skin allergies is dry skin, which leads to a decrease in the defense function. Just remove excess sebum and moisturize the skin sufficiently.

B. Oily skin allergies: Acne and small particles are prone to appear on the face, and the face will become red, swollen and inflamed. Even dry areas such as the cheeks may develop acne. Experts say that people with these symptoms should be suffering from oily skin allergies. The cause of sensitivity is excessive sebum and insufficient moisture, which reduces the skin's protective function. Just remove excess sebum and moisturize sufficiently.

C. Stress-induced skin allergies. During the change of seasons and before menstruation, cosmetics and skin care products become unsuitable. If you lack sleep or are under a lot of stress, your skin will become dry. People with these symptoms should suffer from stress-induced skin allergies. The reason lies in endocrine disorders caused by various external stimuli or hormonal imbalance.

D. Permanent skin allergies such as allergic dermatitis or abnormal sensitivity to sunlight, fragrances, pigments, etc. Specific irritants (allergens) cause allergic reactions. If you continue to follow your daily skin care methods, it will be very dangerous. It is best to go to a dermatologist clinic immediately and use the skin care products recommended by the doctor.
